Is there a difference using 4 ohm amps with B&W's

Is there a difference between a 4 ohm amp and an 8 ohm amp to drive B&W's, particularly the N804s. I'm interested in an Advantgarde "A" 90 watt 2 channel amp (Swiss company). I'm looking for a fuller sound at low to moderate sound levels, I live in an apartment and can't crank it.
I appreciate your time in replying.

    HI goe,
Except for McIntosh, I don't know of any either 4 or 8 ohm solid state amplifiers. Are you inquiring about tube amps???? In that context your question makes some sense.

Ok just bought Rotel RSP 1068 and RMB-1095 now I just need the cables that goes in between them. I was looking at X Cables one that was 75 Ohm and the other 100 Ohm.

Bigger amps and <4 Ohm designs
      by fjhuerta
I never really gave much thought about the differences between amps, since I'm not really convinced that different amps can sound *that* different (you know, the Julian Hirsch school of thought)...

Anyway, someone offered me a pair of Channel Islands D-200 amplifiers for a great price,...

Tube amps, metal cone speakers, DIY in general - do they mix?

      Hi all,

After listening for some months to my latest two designs, I've reached a conclusion... I don't know if its wrong, but it certainly seems to match what I've observed.

I've noticed I'm always trying to make speakers as sensitive as possible. Due to this fact, my designs...

Flying Moles - Digital Mono Amps

Has anyone listened to/delt with Flying Mole amps?

I am looking at the DAD-M100Pro series for running my front sound stage (PMC DB1's and TBC2M), being supplied via a Rotel RSP-1098 processor.

      Rated output 100-watts / 8 ohm
      Frequency Response 5Hz-50kHz / 8 ohm...

I would welcome users experience of different interconnects between Pre/Proc & Amps they have used.

I know peoples views on interconnects vary from don’t waste your money to I have some costing hundreds and they make a massive difference.
