What happened to the ASW875 and 865 ???

I thought these new EQ subs B&W had been promising would be out by now.

Have these been dropped (I cant see any mention of them on B&W's website anymore) ?

Have a look at this reply I had from B&W just over a week ago.

I regret to inform you that the range of digital subwoofers (ASW865 & ASW875) are no longer going to be introduced.

We are currently re-evaluating what is required for a high end active subwoofer, but as yet we are not able to confirm when a subwoofer of this calibre will be available.

The ASW825 & ASW855 are the current high end subwoofers.

I apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

That's really perculiar. I e-mailed B&W direct and that was the response they gave. On the strength of their reply I have an ASW855 coming today. I will be less than happy if there is indeed an 875. Why would they deny its existance. It just doesn't make sense.

I've got a pair of ASW-855 too, because I was tired waiting for the ASW-875.Just added a Velodyne SMS-1 for the room equalisation which turns to be out perfect and it costs less then buying a pair of ASW-875.
You can drive 3 subs trough the Velodyne sub manager.
