DVD player for B&W 800 series and Anthem D2?

With high end 800 series spkrs such as 803 D / 802 D how to choose a universal DVD player for cd/sacd/dvd audio /video playback?

I am going to use the DVD as transport and use the anthem D2 DAC's to process 2 channel audio ( digital coax connection ) and also Decode dd /dts 5.1

Can I do the same for Video ? ( have the dvd send a video signal to processor and the procssor will scale it to my Tv's resolution ) and how critical is the DVD player's video output critical in this regard ?

    Thanks

use the scaler on the anthem. buy a dvd player that will send 480i over hdmi, such as the classe cdp300, marantz 9600, or the pioneer 79avi.
I'm just sittin here watchin the wheels go round and round...

Thanks Sikoniko for the quick reply

Now do I still need an expensiv dvd player like Classe if Anthem D2 is doing all the processing

Can I not use a mid priced dvd player like denon 3910 or 2910 etc ?

If you want firewire connectivity, 2910 doesn't offer it. Additionally, neither Denon can output 480i over HDMI/DVI (Just 480p, 720p, 1080i)

the pioneer elite 79avi is around 1000$us. it should do what you are looking for. the built in scaler sucks, but you'd be using the gennum one anyways.

You havent said what display device you are using. It might change things. But the Denon are really nice players. I think you would enjoy the 3910 a lot. Also, always compare HDMI (all scan rates) against the analog component or RGB connections. Sometimes, it isn't all what it is cracked up to be.

"NeoDigit calls the NeuNeo HVD2085 a "universal player". Taking them at face value, the player does seem to handle just about everything: DVD, SVCD, VCD, CD, HDCD, MP3, WMA, Photo-CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD–R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW and built-in...

                  Hi guys,

I just replaced my Denon 3802 with a Rotel 1066 yesterday, hooked up to a Rotel 1075 amp. I haven't had much of a chance to listen to it yet but so far it sounds awesome.

I have a problem with my video connections though. I had no problems with the Denon 3802 so...
