    Bi-amping question

I have several (7) Sony TA-N55ES amps. I am curious about using each amp for bi-amping. Can I split the output from the pre/pro and then use the left and right channel of the amp to bi-amp a speaker? What would be the drawbacks of such an application? Would I gain anything if this is feasible? I currently use the amps bridged one amp per speaker.

    thanks,

All you need is a decent Y splitter for your interconnects from your pre to your amps. Then use the amps the way you stated...

The main thing you will gain is more headroom and you can set your reference level down a few DBs... Other than that, the sound might be a little more clear/dynamic since the bass responsibilities are seperated from the mid/high.

Try it and see if you like it!

Thanks Dan, I thought that might be the way to go. I'm using 6 DM640's and a CDMCse in my HT. If nothing else it will be a fun experiment. :B

HCA 2003 vs HCA 1206 Biamping?
        by Ossi
I currently have a HCA 2003 that I am using since some years already for the front 3 channels in my system. As I us this system for stereo listening as well, I though of going biamping as my speaker offer this approach. So I though of selling die HCA 2003 and buy a HCA 1206.

        Biamping the HTM2D?
        by mtlrx
Hi everyone, first post. I am wondering if it's worth biamping the HTM2d. I will be getting 802d and want to biamp them with Bryston 6b(3 channel) 300w/channel amps but wondering if it's worth biamping the HTM2D. If I do biamp the HTM2D I will get another 6b or should I just get a 4b(2 channel) also...

        Biamping with the 802D's
        by moonlightdrive21
Has anyone tried doing A/B comparisons on the 802D's with biamping vs. not biamping?

I was wondering how much better it would sound with two Classe 3200 power amps (200 watts per channel) biamped on my 802D's/HTM2D as opposed to just using one 3200 amp for the three speakers.

        Combined Internal and External Biamping
        by mijotu
[First, forgive me if I am in the incorrect forum for this, my first question. I will take note if this post is moved such to avoid future errors.]

I have a Pioneer BSX-72TXV as well as an Arcam AVR300 receiver. I am interested in using my Arcam as an external amp for my L-C-R channels,...

        Rotel 1095 Amps & B&W802 = biamping make a difference?
        by jazznsoccer
        Hi All,

I demo'd B&W speakers and settled on the 802's (higher up was beyond my point of pain for speakers). I really liked the 802's over the 803. Alll tests were done using the Rotel RMB-1095.

I've heard that most people would suggest getting a better amp, but there...
