B & W alignment filter question

Hey all

saw one of these on ebay, i guess it hooks up between pre pro and amp, is this a must have, i'm not sure to pull the trigger on this one or not

Unless you bi-amp, I don't think you need it because there are no (or insignificant) time delays between the frequecies and on the 7 and 8 series i believe are phase corrected for the crossover by the tweeter placement.

If you do bi-amp you still might not need it if the amps are identical (because the time delays would be the same for both outputs).

The question would be how would you calibrate it even if you bought an alignment filter? You might be introducing more errors depending on your setup.
