Opinions on CCM817 as Front L/C/R Ceiling Mount

Hello ALL,

My first post here, glad to be joined.

Today I bought 3 CCM 817 in-ceiling speakers to use for my Left, Center and Right front speakers for my family room.

Does anyone have any suggestions/comments/opinions on my selection of these wafers for LCR speakers.

My rear surround speakers are CCM65's

Hi,

They are nice speakers however I would normally never use ceiling speakers for the fronts - where it is really important for the movie experience to create a sound stage that locks on the screen. This requires speakers on either side of the screen and somewhere in the middle. Overhead speakers simply don't do this effectively for the front (they are fine for the rears) - ruining the involving sound dynamics.

If you are short of space or your decor does not allow for conventional speakers B&W have the very good FPM series that are wall mounted and no thicker than a plasma screen. If you possibly can don’t even take your new ceiling speakers out of the box, return them to your B&W dealer to swap for these...
