    My Haven

    :T Hi every one
I'm new to this forum, and I must start by saying I am very envious of many of the system on this thread, you guys have done some great set-ups.

I thought you might like to pass comment on my system; it's been built in the back 2/3rd's of my garage . It measures approx 15 feet long by 11 feet wide, with a homemade screen (97inches diagonal).
Because I was on a budget, I did all the building work and electrics my self, which allowed me to spend more on the kit, which consist of:

    Lexicon RV8 (Receiver/Amp)
    Denon 2910 (DVD)
    Panasonic PT AE700 (Projector)
    B & W Nautilus 804 (Main's)
    B & W Nautilus HTM 2 (Centre)
    B & W DS6 Dipoles (Side's)
    B & W CDM1 (Rear's)
    Rel Strata 5 (Sub)
    Rega Planet (CD player)
    Sky+
    XBox

It looks and sound pretty good, and 804's are sooooooooooooooo good, I never get tired of listening to them.
Any how that's mine please view and enjoy as I do.

    Cheers

Very nice setup! Is there a nice guitar too?

How does the Denon compare to the Rega for CD playback?

    Welcome to the club!

        Thanks guy's

The denon's ok for cd's if you haven't got anything to compare it against, but when you use a decent cd player like the Rega there's just a warmth and detail that a lot of dvd players don't reveal, after all they are primarily designed to play the more action style sounds of movie sound tracks.

The amp for the SG is in another room with the keyboard, it’s where I play instruments with my daughter.

            Very nice, Lee! :T

I especially like the Pacino artwork.

I screwed to the ceiling a curved pellmit made out of hard board; I then had some brown suede panels made with Velcro on the back top edge, which I fixed to the pellmit and let hang down behind the screen. This has a couple of effects: One they darken the surrounding screen area, secondly it helps with the acoustics.

Movieman; I have 800Ds in front, 802N rear and HTM2D for the center. I have Class3 CP500 Delta for 2 Channel and Classe CAM/350s for Amps. I have the Denon 5805 for HT and also use the CAMs fir the fronts with the Denon. I am wondering how the RV sounds? I might change out my Denon for it.

                    Wow what a system,
Viper I haven’t heard the 5805 so I cannot compare, but reading the reviews is sound like one hell of a good amp. All I can say is try to get a home audition and compare the two, I love the lexicon, it's imo a laid back amp were as a lot of av amp's can be full blown in you’re face, it's also smooth, warm and detailed.
As I said try an get a listen.
