Phase plugs now ready

Appologies for the delay in getting my aluminium plugs ready - but they are now coming out of the shop.

Anyone who still wants these just PM me or mail me at caleb@iafrica.com and I will arrange for you to pay and send you these lovely looking (and sounding) alluminium plugs.

I have put these into my 802's, 805's and HTM centes and they DO improve the sound.

FYI, the new 805S' phase plug cannot be changed (per B&W tech).

hehe agree to disagree. The Aluminium matches the alloy tweeter dome in my eyes...although I also like the shiny black hi-quality plastic look - apparently the alloy sounds better, and if one were to coat/paint the alloy it might negate the audio enhancement?

PS Sometimes pictures don't do B&W's justice, I always thought my Nautilus looked better in real life as pics seemed to take away some of the luster, and the hue seemed a little dark/dull - especially the yellow drivers, they always looks out of place in photo's to me?

Hello! I"m manufactured phase plug from 100 years solid red wood,then boiled 4 hours it in honey.After i changed in sequence wood, plastic,alloy- i was confused,but did not understand what is better

Cowanrg - sorry only available in the aluminium natural colour - you could always paint them or have them anodised.

Not sure about the 700 series, but if the plastic plug in the kevlar driver will unscrew then they will fit.

Do these phase plugs fit the 805S speakers? I thought that this question had been answered before as no, but herotongtong's posts about 805Ss and pictures of the phase plugs make me think differently. Thanks for any response, and I would like a pair if you ship to the US.

roundmound, unfortunately they dont fit into the new 805S - the dust caps are fixed, bit of a bummer cos the Signature 805's can take them

I just got a pair of 803Ss which come with aluminum phase plugs so I don't think they have an effect the sound but they are well worth the price for the looks alone. Caleb sent them right away, even before I sent payment! I highly recommend them to anyone who owns Nautilus or 800 series speakers.

In your picture is that a Rotel RCC-1055 changer? If so, do you recommend? I am currenlty using a Denon DCM-370 changer. I also see you have a Denon DVD 1000 player - I have the same model - quite happy with it for an entry level model. I too am waiting for the plugs from Caleb. What speakers did you put the phase plugs on - the 803S (replaced the original phase plugs)? Does your dealer in Austin discount more than 10% on Rotel products? :twisted:

Yes, that is an RCC1055. As far as changers go I think this one is great and I would recommend it. It is a little noisy when changing discs though, but I guess most changers are. As for the speakers, I did replace the original aluminum phase plugs with the silver ones from Caleb and I love them! And no, the dealers here generally don't take more than 10% off.

I received my phase plugs (5) , ten days after emailing Caleb. I sent him a $100 bill via global priority mail...$5 fee. They arrived very well packaged. They add to the speaker's apperance...my wife noticed them shortly after I replaced the old plugs and commented that she liked the difference.

I have not played with my 703's as I was told by the local importer of B&W speakers that the 703's phase plugs are definately NOT replaceable and they will break off if you try to unscrew them
