The new 802D&N801.Which one is better?Any common?

I prefer the new 802D, diamond tweeter is the max.The old 801 is in my opinion a very good speaker but I don't like the line. -
A 802D is a better choice.

The best judge is yourself. Many top flight recording studios use the 801. That alone says something. Bass output on the two are vastly different. Listen for yourself and decide. Prices are so close, your own ears should be the only deciding factor. And no offense to anyone- but you are asking for opinions on two speakers that very few people have ever heard. The 802D is very new and very expensive and the 801's are probably the least purchased of the Nautilus series.:B It's all about the MUSIC!!!Comment

Ive been a proud owner of N801 in 6 years now, heard the 802D a couple of times, to my ears theres is no competition, the extra money to 802D is very very well spent.Comment

How does current 802D (not Diamond) compare to the Matrix 801? I can get Matrix 801 for half the price of 802D and I sure love the bigger woofer... Guess the sound will be bigger as well. However the newer B&W's must be more refined in every way? I currently only have McIntosh 6900 which I know... -
I have the N801 and listened to the 802D at the dealer. 802D has a deeper bass and the tweeter is a lot brighter than the N801 due to the diamond tweeter and the rochel bass. Its upgrade time again!!! And as I have narrowed my speaker choices down to N802's and MartinLogan Prodigys, I was wondering....in this forum most people talk about the 800d and the 802d's.

hi, I'm surprised to see that there's no mention of N801 on this forum but alot of 802. Currently I own the N801 and am driving it with rotel 1090 with Nordost red dawn cables. Very neutral and fast sound albeit a bit lean in the bass department, due to Nordost? Any comments or recommendations, thanks....
