where to find used B&W online?

Audiogon seems to have a lot of stuff. Haven't seen any other site that has any good used gear.

Just be VERY, VERY wary of ebay. Make sure it is a seller with sufficient positive feedback and preferably someone you can contact prior to sale. Lots of fraud with Ebay. Audiogon is a bit safer but doesn't have near the volume.

How can you say audiogon is safer? They are equally unsafe. Anytime you make a purchase of that magnitude the best option is escrow, or local purchase, i.e. make sure you can drive and pickup/examine the speakers before you buy. I believe e-bay even recommends escro over a certain dollar amount.

What escrow services have you used in the past? Thanks!

I personally have not used escrow. But, I know ebay has a recommended vendor. I'm sure someone will chime in here.

The best/safest way is to buy locally. Granted the selection can/will be slim.

The ONLY WAY is to go see the product before you buy.

Better still have a listen to it if they are speakers.

How anyone would buy something like B&W speakers unheard and unseen is beyond my comprehension!!

I only say that because I feel a more seasoned and sincere buyer or seller knows about Audiogon. Everyone knows about Ebay and hence the scams are more numerous and profound. Just an opinion.

Very true, but someone can audition the same speaker at a friend or relative or their dealer and then try to buy the same speaker at a discount from Ebay or Audiogon from a reputable seller.

I have had very good 'luck' so far using Audiogon. I was able to pick up a pair of B&W CDM 1NTs to complete my set, shortly after they were discontinued by B&W. I have also been able to quickly sell my 600-series when upgrading.

I won't purchase anything without seeing detailed pics first. You're still taking a chance, of course, but there are some good deals to be had there.

I too have had good experiences only. I have simply been very cautious. Most good sellers will bend over backwards to prove their trustworthiness.
