    Large room speakers

Does anyone out there have a similar sized listening room to me? My room is 6.25m (20.5 ft) long by 4.45m (14.6 ft) wide by 4.42m (14.5 ft) height making it 123 cubic meters or 4344 cubic ft. I am looking for stereo only so no subs to align base output. I’m currently considering the 803D (which I know no one will have yet) but any info on successful base alignment and which models with this sized room would help. I am trying to narrow down the number of heavy speakers I have to borrow to get this right.

Heh, actually your room in feet is 20.5x14.5x14.5 not 222x157x156

My room size is similar: 14 ft ceiling, 32 feet long by 23 ft wide. My speakers are somewhat centered on one of the long walls, facing the "living room" seating area, approximately 8 feet apart.

They amply fill the unit with good sound, and listening from the couch is satisfying, so in my view the speaker size is adequate. If I were throwing loft parties, I get the sense that they would play plenty loud enough, if loudness is the concern.

I currently own Paradigm Studio 80's run though Rotel gear, and I too am interested in the 803D's. I suspect that they will provide ample sound to fill my room.

      Hope this helps!

DIY HT (2X18") Subwoofer help needed

I'm wondering if anyone here could suggest some alternatives to some of the different designs I've been thinking about.

            Constants:
Room: 6200 cubic foot room (25X25X10)
            Amp: 2X250 at 8ohms, 2X500 at 4ohms, 1X800 bridged at 8 ohms
            Budget: $1000-$1500 for drivers...

            Still doing sub research (long)
            by ajpoe
I recently read the Tom Nousaine data thread from years ago.

I am considering Paradigm (Seismic 12 or Servo 15 v2) and SVS subs (single Plus/2, Ultra/2 or dual CS Ultras or PC Ultras), or may be I should just stick with what I have. I get 20% off Paradigm from my dealer and we all know...

            Is a 17x15 room too big for B&W 805S?
            by romnation
Right now I have a pair of B&W 805s, which I am using in a 14 1/2 x 13 room. I have them set up on the long wall, about 6 feet away from the rear wall, and I sit about 6 feet from the speakers. It sounds great in there. I am running 200wpc into them. I am moving though, and will be having a 17x15...

Is 805s good for a medium sized room?
            by BlazeMaster
I'm currently thinking about changing my speakers back to B&W for my HT system, but the problem is that I'm always moving around. The room size for the system is always changing. My current room is 14ft by 27ft, which is a medium sized room and was afraid that the 805s as L&R will be too small...
