my goodness Marsboer, this amps are incredible. I´ve heard AW180, and i felt great punch, cant imagine how excelent the 802D are sounding

I´m searching a amp for my 803D´s and, i´m looking also for this amp. How much cost the pair of them??

I paid about 60 000 NOK or about 7850€ in Norway
They sound incredible on the 802Ds!

I'm currently using Better Cables Silver Serpent III (I think)
But they are next on the list to get replaced.

The replacement cables are called The Giant from a Norwegian brand called Black Magic. These cables are incredible. I can best describe the experience as adding the sound of music to your hifi
In Norway several people have exchanged their Valhallas with Black Magic the Giant speaker cables and Black Magic Revelation IC's..

The turntable is a Pro-Ject RPM 9X with an Ortofon MC Rondo Blue cart.
Pro-Ject Phonobox II pre-amp and Valve Audio Exclame 100 integrated hybrid amp. There is a CD player there aswell, under the amp, that tiny box... a Denon DN961FA pro-broadcast player.

The system is well "integrated" and the Preference 6 speakers really give me what I want. Precise & detailled sound without being clinical.

I think the “musicality” of my system can be attributed to the “tube factor”. The amplifier uses a 6922 tube in the drive stage coupled directly to a complimentary set of MOSfet output devices.

Before I got the Valve Audio amplifier I used to drive the Preference 6 speakers with a set of QUAD mkII tube monoblock amps and a Proton AP-1000 pre-amp… sounded quite good but the VA controls the P6’s much better.

I am very pleased with the P-J turntable. A "Speedbox" are on my "must get" list...

The turntable is my father's DUAL 1210, with an identical cartridge as the one delivered with it in 1970... amazingly this M44/7 is not the same as the current M44/7 (made for the DJ market).

The LFE on the right of the right speaker is connected to the Plasma set (the 802's don't need an LFE in my room).

On top of the Denon processor, is an equalizer/DAC which I use for badly mastered CD's

All the rest of the electronics are in the upper right part of the wooden cabinet, of which the other 3/4 are filled with music & movie software.

I hereby thank all the members of the BW community on this site, because I stole quite a few ideas and inspiration from their own contributions

Pardon the crappy quality of the shots, they were made in a rush.

Very nice! I love your center is level with the mid of the 802. I wish I could do that, however I have to sit too close to the tv.

Race Car Driver, you are right in saying that aligning the center channel with the 802D's heads is a good thing. The HTM2D is really a wonderful center channel speaker for my taste, the voices are very natural and full, and we love it here.

Jack667, I personally don't like those pics very much (except maybe for the close up on the turntable) because the others are too soft, unfocused, some show too much geometry distorsion (look at the roll down screen housing ), and the lighting conditions leaves much to be desired, ending in too much contrast and loss of detail.

An example of very good shots are the ones above in same thread (the Electrocompaniet / 802D setup) : those are very good pics.

But I'm happy if you still find my shots nice They were made in a rush with my Minolta Dynax 7D digital camera, and a very handy but also very limited and very old 28-70 F/2.8 Sigma lens.

Yeah I can see geometry distortion, however, the photos show great life and emotion, it looks like an incredible place to listen to music and watch movies.

Thank you for the nice comment. It is indeed my beloved and cool place to listen to music & watch movies. For me as the user, those pics indeed transpire some emotion. Typical of that is the turntable close-up :

- that old DUAL has a very specific synthetic lubricant smell when it turns, and it has had that exact smell since when I was a child, listening to it in my father's own hifi room; this and the click/click that goes with auto start/stop carries a lot of emotion/memories to me...

- the vinyl discs themselves carry their own smell, and most of all, that silky and seamless sound that I have found only in a couple of CD's.

I don't like the 802D's with the medium grills on (makes them all too bulky) nor without the grills but with the stock black plugs (makes them look like two aggressive yellow eyes). Thus when I saw the golden plug idea on Fife's avatar (http://www.htguide.com/forum/member.php4?u=1875) I fell in love at first sight.

I asked Fife about those golden phase plugs, he told me that they were the "Copperheads" from AC2, a webshop in Japan (http://www.ac2.jp/tp/customs.html).

AC2 lists the copperheads for 63,000 Yen a pair ($545 !!!!). Considering that I would need 2 pairs (2 plugs for 802D + 1 for HTMD2), that would be $1,100 in plugs, plus freight 8O

I asked AC2 how to proceed with purchase, but never got any reply.

In the very same do-it-yourself spirit which had me rework the underwears of my 802D's to have them stay on PTFE feet rather than on spikes or the hideous B&W rubber dampers (http://s.guillard.free.fr/802D_ptfe_feet/), I thusly purchased a $5 gold spray and... here you go

The HTM2D's plug is also painted, but I don't like it without the grill (nor the 802D's without the bass grills), all those loudspeakers and screws kind of destroy the warm atmosphere of the living room.

Ultimately, what I would like would be to replace the 802D's bass grills and the HTM2D grill by naked grill chassis bought from B&W, covered with Texaa Aeria acoustic transparent fabric (http://www.texaa.com/aeria.asp) of the same beige color as the curtains behind the 802D's... Will definately do that.

And i think the Ipod Hi-fi is cool, nice, and very very good... I got he zepellin from BW,and is much more better.. although the HIFI is not that expensive... is a really good speaker..

About the close speakers the problem is not that they are together, that is the difference between THX and DTS or dolby configuration.
The problem is that they are too close to the couch but I have no more room.

I bought those 800s because I get a really good deal on them and I-m moving in about 1 year to another place, much bigger place.
So it was a kind of investment!

The snails boxes look like Tutancamon coffin! My dealer is saving them in his warehouse!

Well, believe it or not, what Im thying to do with the Signatures is a minimalistic aproach!
I will set up a second audio room (in new home) where I intend to place the signatures, a good pre, my Krell 700cx, Bifocal timber Kables and a Classe CD player, maybe if necesary, with I believe so a sub.

But I will be listen to it in about 1 year when I finish my new apartment!

I agree ... I think the snails should be in a room on their own and not part of a 5/7.1 setup.... pure 2.0 or 2.1 setup nice and tidy ... no fuss, no mess.
