It was a nice amp for 1987. I was in the service and had to sell a couple of organs to buy it (I was enlisted!) It is powerful but a little unsophisticated. If you're not careful, turning it off you will usually be rewarded by a significant "thump". I also have its matching C1 pre.- Bottom

Hello there
I´m watching this forum for a long time, now I´m proud to be able to
call myself a "B&W-member"
Here´s my humble little setup:

The electronic components need to be upgraded, at the moment there are:
Denon AVR 2805 (Rears)
Denon POA 2800 (Center, bi-amping)
Braun Regie 550 (Fronts)
Denon DCD 2700
Denon DVD 1920
JVC DR-M1
I´m planning to buy an Accuphase-amplifier (probably E213 or E308 ) for
the front-speakers, so I´d be able to get a proper stereo-setup as well
as multichannel, without "plugging" all the time.
The center-speaker has not the best place at the moment, I urgently need to
buy new furniture....
All in all I´m pretty happy with that setup, both stereo and multichannel/DVD
are really awesome.
Sorry for my english, I´m from Germany....

Blessedi & Chatter Box, AMAZING looking!!!!
Blessedi, I love the style of your room, clean and elegant. You definitely take some amazing pictures, what camera are you using. Top notch job!
Chatterbot, the room looks really good! Do you notice any issues with having the center down in the box there? I'd think you'd need some type of padding inside to help with the reflections? I also see you DJ (is that what's setup in the back). What setup do you have?Digital Audio makes me Happy.

Pewter,
The center-placement is only a temporary solution. I´m planning either to
buy new furniture, so the TV could be placed higher and the center too,
or I´ll re-build the lower segment of my existing rack, put the center
in the middle upon some granit-plate or something else. But as you sayed,
I already recognised some issues, that´s why that urgently needs to be done.
As for the DJ-question: my girlfriend is a DJane, she plays mainly minimal techno.
Her eqipment is as follows:
2* Technics 1210
1* Pioneer CDJ-800
and an older "Stageline"-mixer.

Chatterbot. Nice set up. Hardly humble - its 800 series you are listening to. It don't get much better.
Funny how there aren't may red couches out there in theatre land. I think theatre, I think red seating. The blues cool, but reds just that bit nicer in my book.Mac 8gb SSD Audirvana ->Weiss INT202 firewire interface ->Naim DAC & XPS2 DR->Conrad Johnson CT5 & LP70S-> Vivid B1s. I've seen those racks they are indeed smashing, but quite pricey, however they're cheap compared to your 800 seriesOriginally posted by ChatterbotMy g/f thinks about the same... she wants to buy a new couch since ages.. I preferred

Hey RCD - lovely setup there.
By the way - if you do decide to go for the 800's your Brystons will do them justice.
Just out of curiosity - how far away from the back wall are your 802's - I found that they need quite a bit of space to get the best bass out of them.
not quite sure how I managed to get this post on here twice???- Bottom

Thanks man. :T
Midfi, great setup!
PV1, rotel, nice. Did you make those panels your self or are those the auralex panels? Thats next on my list, bet it sounds great.
Caleb, I sit a little over 8 feet from the speakers, because of the small room and layout I really dont have a choice, there is an issue right now between 53ish-70ish hz.
right behind couch is door to a bedroomand to the right it open to the kitchen and dining room. I wont be getting 800s anytime soon, wouldnt make any sense in this house, but.. some day...
Shadow, as always, thanks and glad I could start your week off right!

Race Car Driver,
The panels are Auralex Sonoflat, and for a just couple hundred bucks made quite an improvment. Really helped to cut down on the echo in the room. An easy way to tell is by opening a soda pop can in the room.
The rack I did make myself, patterened after Salamander designs synergy model.
The PV-1 sub is awesome. Even sitting right in the middle of the rack there are NO vibrations through the rack or components- Bottom

MidFi- Those 703s in maple are sweet. :B Don't see enough in that finish, maybe cherrywood aren't my favourite afterall.
Race Car Driver- I like the shots of your 802Ns from the low angle.Very impressive ;x( Helps show that they are as tall as the 803s which usually look taller cause they're narrower.

I love the Maple on the 700 series, but you're right, it doesn't seem to be very popular color. The brochure doesn't do it justice either, in direct sunlight they really shine.
Unfortunately the Maple color is not available on any of the new 800 Diamond series speakers, so when I upgrade I'll choose the Cherrywood.- Bottom

I know I only have the 300 series, but I also have mine in Maple. I like more than the black ash. It makes the sub look more like furniture than just a big box."Yes, but these go up to aleven" Spinal Tap

A link with photos of room´s construction :Originally posted by Briz vegascorbelli, thats the problem with building a hifi, you end up spending too much time listening to the gear and not enough time finishing the room.
Mel 221, how does the HD-DVD sound through your setup. Everyone raves about the pictures, does it have a similar audio impact to 96/24 DTS, SACD or DVD-audio through your system?
