A/V magazines

Hey everyone,

I was wondering what (if any) a/v magazines you read? I wouldn't mind having a monthly subscription to a mag that reviews gear, music & dvds. Any ideas/suggestions? Even better would be a web mag that I don't have to pay for. :T

I personally like DVD Etc., Home Theater magazine and What HiFi for some european opinions.

Most of these magazines seem biased one way or another but if you keep that in mind, most of them are pretty informative and entertaining.

I like Home Theatre Magazine for a fun, interesting presentation, Widescreen Review for detailed info (though tends to be a little dry) and Stereophile Ultimate AV for something in the middle.

I subscribe to all the magazine Jason just mentioned, plus I also subscribe to THE PERFECT VISION, CONNECTED (which replaced AV Interiors) which I will not be renewing, and have recently added HOME ENTERTAINMENT AND DESIGN ( The Robb Report). The latter is an excellent publication with interesting articles and great pictures on home theater installations. Oh, and now and then I buy SOUND & VISION on the newsstand, but rarely find it satisfying. It used to have great music reviews, especially on classics, but now they just have little sketches.

Home Electronics is one other (than that which George mentioned) that I pickup. I like to see the pics of Home Theaters for ideas for my part time job!!

Not really a HT magazine - but you should take a look at HiFi+ from uk. It is clearly the most beautiful magazine I have seen within the HiFi area. Only downside is that they are mainly dedicated to two channel, dont do HT and have an addiction for turntables...

I read the latest edition of HiFi+ on our trip and will be subscribing. An excellent read. :T

I started out 9 years ago with subscriptions to Stereo Review and Audio. Audio died and Stereo Review has become Sound & Vision.

The only magazines I subscribe to now are Stereophile (because they give it away) and Home Theater.

I used to love Listener but they've gone under as well.

Occasionally I'll pick up issues of HiFi Choice, What HiFi?, Stereophile's Ultimate AV, The Absolute Sound, and The Perfect Vision.

I've decided to cut back on the equipment mags and concentrate on music mags. NME and Q are my favorites but Tracks has proved a good read as well as Mojo and Uncut.
