Hello !
My name is Andreas (amix) and I currently live in Budapest/Hungary (I was born and raised in Germany). I browse the AV/HiFi forums since I am going to buy a 5.1 setup. Since I use a HTPC all I need is the speakers and the amp(s). :B
I am a Vinyl/Phono-Fan! I love it! For me it defines music. ;x(
No fears of SACD/DVD-A tough, especially the multi-channel (only if all equal)
seem to be fascinating and I hope, that with the advanced range it may match phono.
Favourite Speakers would by Dynaudio and B&W, for Amps it'd be the Brits, especially those, who can do good budget stuff (Arcam, Cambridge Audio, Rotel). For digital sources I prefer the big Japanese ones (SONY, Pioneer, etc.)
A brilliant overall manufacturer is T+A for me.
I connnect all my computers to the HiFi so I can play games with the right sound. HT is an option only, I am mostly interested in music, entry-level to (maybe soon) medium audiophile and will have to find out if I buy 5 identical channels for my next setup or a typical 5.1 HT setup.
I have built myself a HTPC, which is going to replace all my equipment (the HiFi in my sig is at my parents house, I could not carry it with me to my new flat). Now all I need is speakers and an pre/amp/receiver. So these will be my questions here. Nice to see you folks have special B&W and ROTEL "clubs" :T
I write my own HTPC software, which is in an eraly stadium.
Oh, and btw.: Check this out please: http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthread.php4?t=7884
