Daylight savings doesn't start until March 13

at 2:00 AM, or when you wake up Sunday morning. So, hit the snooze bar one more week. Then it's Zombie time in the early hours. I hate that.

For some reason, I had it in my head it was today, but when my computer didn't change time, I checked a little deeper online

Some parts of the world change times a bit different and one time I thought it was a week earlier and proceed to change all the clocks that Saturday night, and then on Sunday was wondering why my phone had a different time. :stupid:

I say the best solution is set the time right in the middle and leave it the hell alone! So, it's not spring forward in spring, or fall back in fall, it's just 1 time, all the time 30 minutes in the middle of the two, how difficult is that? We have an area of TN that does not honor it I think, and there's another place or two that doesn't.

I would say just leave it and don't ever bother changing the time. I think this spring forward is the abomination that has no practical use anymore.

Does everybody remember the time when 'they' moved up DST and moved back the reset? So if that could be done, how about just eliminate it all together? I think that may have just been a North America thing. So at some point you have to figure out who sprung forward, who didn't and which state/province (Saskatchewan) doesn't even bother.

I don't think the majority would argue with just setting a time and leaving it there!! Why can't we just do it??!! What forces are in play that make that not happen?

I think there are a few other areas of the world that practice this idiocy. I used to like it in the middle of summer when I golfed a lot late, I could play until 9 But tht is only for a few weeks. It helps with getting yardwork done outside times like now and in the fall, the rest of summer, you have enough time anyway. I went to work this AM, and it was DARK. How is that helping me? I don't mind that it was dark, what I do mind is this rediculous up and back process messing with my circadian clock!!! The human body does not have a spare hour of buffer time to bounce back and forth, it can take weeks to adjust, I know it can for me in daylight savings mode. Also, they say there are more strokes, and heart attacks around these times, older people that stress their bodies. There have been times I truly wonder if I ever adjust, or just always walk around like a zombie, because I miss that HOUR I need. I couldn't go to sleep last night when I went to bed, that meant missed sleep, cause that unforgiving bitch alarm clock went off an hour earlier no matter what!

I think if someone at national level made a motion, it could be passed to suggest to states that we stop the practice.

I really do like the 30 minutes in the middle idea, and that becomes the new TIME. But some donk would have issue with th at, changing from an even hour to a half hour, why it's impossible, can't be done! Yeah it can, I just change my stupid clocks. lol.

I heard there were a few petitions going around on the net about undoing it. I don't know.

Arizona doesn't do DST. It's too hard to move the sundial.

I'm not a fan of losing an hour of sleep, but I've always enjoyed the extra hour in the autumn. Overall I don't spend any time thinking about it.

It was first used in Canada , and Germany was the first country to adopt the standard. So don't blame us. LOL

Hey gang, it looks like a good weekend to get out to the local theaters! Some of the more interesting ones (to me) are:

I had a chance to see the new daylight projection screens from ICE AV today in NZ. They were featured in our national newspaper NZ Herald yesterday and got glowing reports, so I thought I had better see them for myself. Well I was totally impressed and yes they work in a full lit room. Interestingly...

I am sure to get a biased result on such a poll, but it may confirm that I am not alone in this difficult decision: If I can save enough, how should I spend my next savings?
