Sandra Bullock sure looked stunning!



Were there any surprises for you at the Oscars other than which tux Ellen would wear? I don't know, maybe there were lots of surprises.

At first it looked like Gravity was going to take it all. That theory held up for a while, until you got to the most critical Best Actress and Best Motion Picture. Those went another direction.

Dallas Buyers Club won three awards, best actor: Matthew McConaughey and best supporting actor:
Jared Leto not sure what the third was, hair and makeup maybe, something like that.

Cate Blanchett won Best Actress for Blue Jasmine
12 years a slave Best Motion Picture and best supporting actress Lupita Nyong'o

Tom Hanks film, shut out! Julia Roberts, shut out for best supporting, and Meryl Streep best actress. To me, those are surprises, but Hollywood is ushering in new guards I guess. Out with the old, in with the new.

I don't usually watch these sort of things, but I decided to tune in last night.

Performances by U2 and Adele and someone else I didn't know.

Here's my take.......

Well.......everything went down at the Oscars as it should have. Per my post yesterday on the movie "Gravity", it won only the awards it should have......and that is for visuals and effects only. I have not seen "Buyers club" or "12 years a slave" so I cannot comment on their merit. Musically, the awards were great. Great performances by all. The Moon one was very nice, quiet, simple and serene. Bono's acoustic version of "Ordinary Love" was great!. However, no one can deny that damn infectious song "Happy". I mean, that's basically musical Prozac to be honest!. How can you NOT feel good listening to that song??!!. I love what he did with the dancers. Basically, just a mish mash of ordinary folks of different sizes and denominations dancing and looking.......well............Happy!!. Ellen was just hilarious and the pizza delivery was absolutely ridiculous!. Fun evening!

Gravity also won Best Director--one of the biggies.
