You're not mocking the tables as speaker stands are you? :M :W I use one of those for my centre speaker (seriously--it places it exactly where it needs to be).

Overall, though, an entertaining photo. :T

No, I think it's more the $40 Dayton speakers infront of the Bowers and Wilkins 804D2s... though the TV tray wooden stands are part of the joke as well!

I just thought it looked funny when I was trying to get the Daytons to break in and sound really good. Ended up adding a little polyfil to get ride of some of the boxiness sound of the speaker.

For $40 these things are very impressive though... They will go nicely wherever I end up putting them. I also did an MTTM design with them. LOL

I'm not ashamed to say I used a pair of chairs for speaker stands to audition three pairs back in 2004 (we were about to move and I didn't want to invest in proper stands until after the move). Glad to see I'm not the only one.

One must do as he must , to achieve the sound they want. If snack tables and chairs work for yeah , who the heck are we to judge. Now if you want to talk about all that wire mess , thats a completely different story.

Our local home theater group visited a member's home a few years ago to audition their megabuck Meridian system and the main speakers and the surrounds were on dining room chairs. We were't invited for s meal, so there was no problem with that arrangement. :>)

Do three pairs beat a flush? I know someone who put a speaker on top of the toilet tank so he wouldn't miss out on movie dialog when he was taking a bio-break.

Many people comment on my abundance of wires!. Then I say......if you want a 5.1 surround system..... THERE HAS TO BE LOTS OF WIRES!!. I then go on to tell them that heaven forbid you look behind my TV and audio rack and see what's there!. ACK!!. Once there was an electrician at my place and he said this: "Your playing with fire"!!!. Hehehe........

Wires... where are there wires?!!? I see no wires.... When they were on the chairs, I was constantly moving them around, opening them up and adding polyfil to the speakers, then would sit and switch back and forth on the sets until I got them sounding the best I thought I could make them.... So there was no need to make the wires nice and neat. In the main picture the wires are just the HDMI, Ethernet and coaxial connection to the DAC from the laptop which I had put on the coffee table to do better testing with the speakers. For the most part you really can't see any wires normally... there's too much equipment in front of them!

It was funny sitting here going... you know those speakers behind the Daytons... really should NEVER be behind a $40 bookshelf speaker. lol. It cracked me up so I took the picture.

Hey if we, as audiophiles can't make fun of ourselves (and others find it funny as well)... then we aren't doing our job right... or something like that!

                              Hi,
After a long internet search, I decided to purchase a set of Sound Anchor stands for my rear B&W 803S speakers. I’m posting these photos because during my search for plinths, I found very few good photos of the actual product I was trying to research, to include even on the SA website....

In my years of stumbling around audio and HT-related forums, one thing I've noticed that many audiophiles seem to agree on are these things (note that this is for music, not home theater):
                              • 2-channel is preferred over multi-channel
                              • Vinyl is preferred over CD, and even SACD/DVD-A
                              • Tubes are preferred
                              ...

                              How much polyfil?
                              by Inu_Yasha
I was searching the board trying to find the thread with the link that says how much polyfil to use per cu ft. Does anyone know of the link, or know about how much to put in per cu ft?

                              by Lex

Looks an awefully lot like this:

Even the stands of the Usher favor Sonus faber stands, which mine pictured above are not on. Those are Lovans.

They also have another speaker (Dancer) that utilizes somewhat of a lute shape, which I know Sf...
