    power outage after storm

I googled and found out that there's 109,000 still without power as of 8 AM this morning. It was 650,000 at the height of the storm. That's a tremendous load on utility companies, wow.

I hope all of our members in the north faired ok in this storm of up to 38" of snow, wind, and cold.

It's kind of funny they were getting all that snow and we were in mid 40's yesterday and today we're almost at 60. Usually isn't the case.

No problems where I am. We got about 9 inches of snow, a lot of which is melting away, thanks to the warmer temps and rain.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

              CPU temps?
              by Alaric
I bought a barebones kit from Tiger Direct last year with a AMD 4 core CPU and an ATI chipset (Radeon 4200). My CPU and MOBO temps run 110 F with the side cover on the case. It came with a big Zalman cooler and fan for the CPU and one in the side blowing (almost) directly on it , plus the one in the...

Loss of RSX-1055 settings with power outage
              by hal
After a power outage which settings are likely to be lost and which ones are retained? Does the "User Settings" feature retain all this after a power outage or is some/most of it lost? Any alternatives other than an uninterruptable power supply?

              help, brain is melting
              by jberg
              hello

I built myself a set of little speakers using the HiVi B3N and the Dayton ND20FA-6. I crossed them at 4000 Hz using a 2nd order filter and an L-pad to push the tweeter 10 dB down

But whenever there are a lot of esses involved it feels like my brain is melting and...

1066 loses ALL settings after 5 minute power outage?!
              by Patrick TX
Man, this is driving me NUTS! My 1066 lost EVERYTHING (except firmware) after a 5 minute power outage. What's confusing me is that I have it plugged in to a Panamax M5300 power center. Every night, I hit the master power button on the Panamax to shut down in sequence. What it the difference between...

              Storm damaged my Rotel 1056.
              by James63
              Background:

A big storm came through quickly and knocked out the power. None of my equipment was in use when the storm came through and I unplugged everything before the power came back up. It was also plugged into a surge protector. Nothing else was damaged. My two channel system works...
