Component Or Computer?

I just spent Friday night updating my components.

1) reconfiguring my network, wireless and wired
2) resetting my music server to work with the new network config
3) updating the OS on the music server to the latest release
4) updating the firmware on my Blu-Ray player

Jeez, I feel like I'm back in the IT industry.

Great post, dude. Networking is steadily becoming more and more of a mainstay in the A/V world. Many components are networked. In fact, Universal Remote Control (now just URC), a company that I really like and work with a lot, started offering an "intro to networking" training class before even touching their products, and just released a requirement, now, that in order to sell and work with their high-end stuff, you have to be certified from them on networking.
