Good speakers for a small department?

I move from my house to a smaller apartment and I have a receiver with 100W, the surface of the living is around 40m2. What are good speakers for a small place and fits also to a receiver (Rotel-RSX-972)?
    Thanks!

How about the B&W 685s? The aren't huge and have a pretty darn good sound to them! Then you could also pickup a small sub if you need a little more bass.

For a small speaker with great sound I think the B&W CM1's can't be beat.

I was thinking the same thing. I have a pair of 600 Series 3. I keep hearing the Series 4 is the biggest jump in SQ. Very good speaker for the price.

            speakers, also an centre?

Thanks for the information :T ... I will have a look for B&W speakers, the 685 or the CM1 or CM5 (but they are more expensive... )
Is it necessary to buy also an centre (HTM62)?

only for HT is it necessary...but you can live without it and still be happy. But I do like the seemlessness of adding a matching center channel in for movie watching.

But if it was me, I'd spend more on my L/R than skimp out just to get a center channel.

Ok, but from BW there is nothing in between the 685 and the CM5? The CM5 is more than double the price of the 685...

I would check out FPMs with a sub. In a small room they take up 0 floor space

Agreed! They fill my apartment up clean clear sound. I can have them up pretty "loud" and since they are so clear sounding they don't bother anyone. Most people associate distorted sound with loud. My speakers are not far from my door, you can hear the music from outside the door a little but its a a soft sounds . Now I have neighbors two doors down and the TV without external amps and speakers sounds louder from the hallway then my CM1's hooked up to a Rotel RSP 1570/ RMB 1565. And yes I do play more then just soft music (classical, electronic, jazz, metal, very heavy metal etc etc)

The FPM looks :T on the website of BW... but they don“t sell them here So I have to choose between the 800/700/600 and CM serie... and also to think on my budget... is there somebody that send speakers (by registred mail) to Chile?

                        Problem with distortion on CM1s
                        by cholas
I hope this is posted in the right place. If it is I would greatly appreciate some help with the following problem:

I am experiencing severe distortion via my FL and FR B&W CM1s. It only seems to happen during particularly loud explosions viz: The first bomb going off in The Hurt...

Considering purchase of two CM1s for R/L speakers for home theater. Wife has vetoed floor stands, so am wondering if placing the CM1s on bookshelves on either side of TV will be a problem? Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thx

I think current space is about 3.0-3.5 m.

Also a question about vocals and B&W 685.I sometimes hear like vocals sound tiny(music is more dominant than vocals) and/or vocals are singing from a bit far away,is it cause...

                        Hello all,

First post here; hopefully not my last. I currently own a bunch of old, mass market electronics and I'm looking to upgrade to something better. Basic plan of action:

Step 1: Get the Rotel 1550 Surround Receiver. I can hook this up to some older style Polk...
