Speaker Connection Problems

I am currently having a problem with the spring clip speaker terminals on the back of my amp. The clips on two of the terminals don’t seem to be gripping the wire properly and so the sound cuts out or goes quiet intermittently. It’s very annoying because I keep having to stick my arm round the back of the amp and jiggle the wires around until the sound comes back.

I've tried holding the wires in place with tape and blu tack but that doesn’t seem to work and I’ve tried to wedge them in with a match but the hole isn’t big enough to fit it in.

Anybody else had a similar problem? I’d be interested to hear any ideas of how I can get this fixed because like I said it’s damn annoying.

I've had good luck stripping about 1.5" of wire and folding it in half. Once you insert it and have the spring clamp down, pull it back. This should flare out the wire making contact and keep it snug.

If you're comfortable with soldering , you can just replace the spring clips with binding posts. You can get a nice upgrade for little money that way.
