That Santa looks a little "rough" to me.

I hope you can find that popper up North. What would shipping be if you had to order it from the U.S.?

Hi George, you can also check-out "Restuarant Equipment" Stores in your area to find stuff like that. You maybe lucky to find a very good used one at a great price. Just look in your yellow pages under "Restaurant Equipment"

        Cheers Bud!!

                Andrew,
Yeah I'd like to know where she bought it. If it was at someplace in Moncton there may be a similar place that sells it around here or maybe I can order one .

A fellow HTer at another site was kind enough to point me to this site. They carry the model shown on the US site.

                  http://Goldaskitchen.com/

Thing is, this site is charging $62 something for the same model that sells for $23.95 in the US. I am checking to see if it may make better sense to order from US if they ship to Canada. The $62 at Goldaskitchen will also having shipping charges on top of that.

                        George,

This makes the best popcorn short of a commercial unit. You can get it at the Bay (Hudson Bay) or any of it's affiliates Zellers, Home Outfitters etc... no shipping required unless you don't have one of the stores mentioned nearby. And if they don't have it in stock they may ship it from anther store free cause there's tons of them in Winnipeg. (At least that's what Eatons did in the glory days...ah Eatons...I really miss that store  ). I couldn't find it at HBC.com but I know they have it because I bought one for my brother-in-law a couple of weeks ago. When you can Shop Canadian!

Thanks Andrew. Gordon mentioned the Bay and Zellers. There is a Zellers locally, which I will check out, and there are bigger Zeller stores and a Bay store in Halifax, a couple of hours from here.

Gordon: do you have one of these ? If so, what is your popcorn cooking recipe. Do you use coconut oil ? Peanut Oil, etc ? I hate microwave popcorn and want to get close to that theater taste.

do you have one of these
Personally, no. I bought it for my brother-in-law and have now put it on my x-mas list. We followed the recommended guide included in the popper (something like a tablespoon oil to 1/2 cup of popcorn...i think can't remember because it's been a couple of weeks since I was last there). We've only ever used Canola simply for healthier living. You lose a little of the theater taste...but it is light years better than microwave (which is too heavy most times) and you never burn a kernel. Also, all kernels pop, probably due to the internal mixer (provided you're always turning that thing). I guess experimentation is the key, you could substitute for the oil of your choice and salt to your liking. You get a couple of flavors to try with the popper and a bag of premium popcorn(instead of low-grade popcorn  ...at least that was the Bay's package...could have been a gift pack...not too sure). No more shaking the sh*t out of your pot while trying to cook your popcorn on the stove. Highly Recommended....my wallet isn't fat enough for a commercial motorized popcorn maker. This IS the next best thing!

Well after searching all over, including The Bay and Zellers, I couldn't find anyone who sold the Whirley Pop Popcorn Popper, so I gave up and ordered the gift set from Golda's Kitchen online. It comes with 4 packs of popcorn and a recipe book. Should have it by next Tuesday. Now, what movie should I watch with my first bowl of Whirley Pop Popcorn ? Maybe U571 or another spin of Lord Of The Rings...hmmm

This is certainly a staple of home theaters. What would a home movie theater experience be without popcorn? Up to now, I've always just used the microwave popcorn bags or small hot air popper. But with my theater project, I just had to buy an antique popcorn popper to put in my rec room/theater lobby....

Got us a popcorn machine. Whirly pops work good, but not as good as this thing. It makes some of the best corn we've ever had and it is a real bargain too. Gotta love overstocked Chinese stuff in a recession.
