    Discovery HD on Dish?

    Anyone subscribe to Disc HD on Dish? I heard a few different takes on if it would have commercials and how they might be implemented. Also, how well does the new plug-in decoder/decompressor work? Any significant pic quality issues vs straight up with the 8vsb? module?

      Sorry Pete, can't help you there. I am interested in any replies tho' as I haven't made the HD-decoder plunge yet either.

                  I think the deal is for a years subsciption you get the new decoder for "free". I just think they overpriced it, tho. One channel for ~$7 month....with commercials, last I heard. If it as commercial free, maybe. If it included other HD channels, better. If they had a recorder that did HD, ala Dishplayer, better yet. (I hear rumors about 2003 on that one!)

                      Dish 921 HDPVR price reduction!

                      Anyone who has been on the fence waiting for a price drop, like me, time's up! The 921 is selling for $549 now. It's called a promotion, but I wonder if this will just be the new regular price.

I've had DirecTV in the past, but since I moved and don't have service in my new house yet, I'm willing to consider Dish Network, and hopefully leverage the two companies against each other in a bidding...
