Well we did ask for it............

I just find it funny with over 500 members but we'er stuck at only 11 members posting their home theater pics. It could be most have forgotten about it.

Maybe the mods could post theme nights for the Chat Room/s?

    Thoughts?

Clive, of course, I have a website. But I will put some pics in whenever I get them updated. I don't want to put old pics in.

I think we will probably wait til fall to get things cranking to much on chat, as summer is the slow season.

But anytime a group wants to organize, hey go for it! Maybe a DVD chat, or something.

      UC,

I plan to post some pics, once I get a digital camera and get my tv. I do agree with you. It's shocking that more have not posted them.

Some may be more like me... I'm not sure I'm proud enough of my home theater (my den with some modest HT equipment) to actually post pictures h:

          Hello Rick,

We are not like that here. It doesn't matter what level you are at in this hobby. We just enjoy the involvement of our members.

Most of us started this hobby (now addiction) from humble beginings (I'm one of them). And though I have upgraded several items in different areas, I still consider my gear to be "upper-entry level gear".

I just moved into a new home (new to me) and was able to make an extra bedroom my play room. With just getting a house and pockets being stretched to begin with, I have no plans to bring this room, to the "home theater" look any year soon, if ever.

The level of enjoyment as in any hobby, is very person dependent. When it comes time to sit down and watch a film, the only one that needs to be happy is you! If you have access to a digital camera, we would love to enjoy your pics. Most of us in this hobby, still live in the real world.

OK. As soon as I get my entertainment center finished (next weekend, I hope) I'll take some pics and send'em in!

If I'm not mistaken posting pics here aids us with ideas for our future. I would see a gear rack or other funiture likes chairs, gaming tables etc in a store and because I've seen it in a layout similar to mine it would give the idea for my own layouts. The other day I was emailing a member here for some advice and he was able to give me some definate answers because he was able to see what I was talking about from the Pics.

guys a great idea when used for the right reasons. :later:

I will upload some pictures tonight. The pictures are a little outdated. They were taken when my fiance and I were living in an apartment. I too just moved into a house and have a bonus room that I put my equipment. Not the best system but I am always upgrading.

I will be posting some pictures once the theatre room is more complete. Painting is complete ... just a little more to go ...

Hi Rick, welcome to HTGuide! John's comments are right on track. No-one here is an elitist - or if they are, they hide it VERY well. Uh, okay, maybe Lex. . . . :B

Lots of us started with something like a mono VCR hooked into the tape loop of a stereo receiver (like I did), so you are already ahead of the game. We've all had to learn this from the ground up, so feel free to ask any questions you want. Most likely, one or more of us will have a silly story about how we did it backwards to go with the answer. We all love this stuff and love to talk (type?) about it and help each other.

Anyway, post some pictures, sit back, relax and join the fun. I'm glad you are here!

P.S. Stop by the "At the Movies" section. We're always looking for more opinions over there!

I don't have a scanner or a digital camera. Some time back Lex offered to post some pics for me, but I can see he has been very busy so I haven't bothered him. Maybe later.

Today, I received an email from Clive's wife. Clive asked her to update us. I was completely out of the loop. I had no idea that October 25, Uncle Clive had a pacemaker put in. I am not sure I was supposed to share this. But since Clive is our friend, I felt an obligation to put him in the HTG thought...

This change automatically reflects in his posts, but some places on the site (such as last post in a forum or thread) may still say Uncle Clive until someone posts in that forum or thread....

Sorry guys, but I pulled the plug on avchalet.com last night. Turns out, my original reason for obtaining this website didn't work out. So, I have a new gameplan, of course, that's my cable company.

However, after using the other site tools for 30 days, several factors prompted my getting...
