As my family begins the upgrade to HDTV I have a question as to what TV to get as our "everyday" TV in the den. I saw the Loewe and the Sony side by side and fiddled with both to see how good I could get them to look in the store. There was no question that the Loewe had the superior picture, fleshtones were much better looking and it didn't have the hard edges that most HDTVs have (especially plasma). However, they were both hooked up to one of those HDTV loops and not to a external arial or sat. dish. My question is this, how does the Loewe Andaconda look with a non HDTV source, like a local channel through a sat. dish? I have seen the Wega with this source and it seemed o'k. Since the majority of the veiwing with the TV in the den is local channels and sat. programming this is an important issue for us. More important than DVDs since we almost always watch those in the HT.

by tf1216I have read about Loewe Direct View televisions and some say there is nothing greater. Any reason why they are not talked about much?
I realize the price is steep but has anyone owned or at least viewed one? Do you think the SED screens will be as good? -
by SiliGooseAnyone here own one yet?
I'm trading my XBR-250 for the 400 soon and would like to hear opinions on the new Wega.
How is it in 1080i mode? Does it automatically double everything to 960i -or can you turn that off (not that I would, but it would be neat to compare)?... -
by Rock DogI've tried repeatedly. However, TV calibration and setup is a chink in my HT armor. So I think I'd like to find one of those ISF guys I read about to come out and do it up right.
So my question to you folks. How do I go about finding one of these gurus in my area? And how much should...-

by Little BruceHowdy yall,
Stopped by a a/v dealer tonight, looked at a 27 and 32" Wega. Very pricey......but is true flat screen worth the cost?
Any personal experiences anybody might be able to share? I would appreciate any pros/cons yall might be able to throw at me.
