dvd phono plug to coaxial connection.

Very basic question.Forgive me for being such an idiot. My new dvd has a female phono plug out for the coaxial. My TV is an older modes with the basic 75 ohm coaxial connector.
Will I need a RF modulator, available from radio shack to go directly from my dvd to TV?
I was using my vcr, which is a newer model with appropriate connections, however I can't watch copy right protected dvd's in this way,i.e. with VCR in the path. Thanks tons in advance.Roland.

Hi Roland. Welcome to HTGuide! John's already got you covered, eh?

Don't worry about asking basic questions. We ALL started out not knowing a lot about this most righteous hobby/addiction of ours. Besides, NOT asking a question is when you get into trouble! You don't have to worry about some ego-head flaming you - it just doesn't happen here.

See you 'round, I hope! 8)

Best quality for CD/DVD: Analog RCA, Coaxial, or..?
            by drosophila
Without getting into cable brands or, well.. any brands, really, what's the word on analog vs. digital interconnects on CD players?

We're all accustomed to the ol' analog RCA plug, but I think equally so with TOSLink and Coaxial connections.. but what do you feel gives the better sound?...

            Hello All,

I've been really getting into analog, and loving every minute of it.

As I mentioned in the "Turntable Advice" thread, I'm now looking at upgrading. However, there are several very basic questions that are still a little confusing to me. Here are a...

Integra Dtr 7.1 - Phono Hum Problem
            by gudge111
I recently purchased a turntable and connected it to the phono jack on my integra dtr 7.1. I noticed a couple of things:

1 the signal didn't split to my subwoofer so I only receive signal to the 2 front satellite speakers. Is this normal? I have configured the system to include the...
