It's been a hectic past few months as I have been focusing on starting up a new wireless company and working on my home theater. Well we began cellular operations on Oct 1st, the home theater is as complete as it's going to be at this point in time, and I have been watching a lot of movies. So it is time to get more involved here and share the fruits of my labor.
The house I purchased in June is very unusual as it is built in 1949 and modeled on a Frank Loyd Wright design. It has almost no flat ceilings because of the "quonset" design, this curved ceiling design made mounting the projector very time consuming. Ever tried to measure placement using a flat surface and then tried to transfer those measurements to a curve? Lots of trial and error and holes in the ceiling.
Well I moved my rack out of the front soundstage, made a shelf mount for the LT150/ISCO II combo and must say I have never enjoyed a home theater as much as this one. Images are smooth and 3 dimensional and with my Waveforms providing foundation for both HT and 2 channel, I'm pretty close to nirvana (or any other grunge band). I've posted some new picts at my HT site under my signature. Take a look and you guys tell me what you think. I'm open to any suggestions!
I have one more improvement to the projector and that is to have it calibrated for 6500 color temp and proper gamma tracking, also going to have the black level improved through "Thumperization".
