    Tower of Power..Updated***

Notice how my wires have disappeared.
I built a 5 foot wall and painted it black for the purpose of hiding all of the exposed cables ETC..The wall fits nicely between the Audio Rack and the Entertainment unit.It also acts as a support to reinforce the Audio rack.
I placed my new DVD plaque that I ordered from ShowOff Displays onto the top part of the wall and also tacked on my old 'Now Playing' DVD holder too.
A small 13" TV was installed into a shelf on the Entertainment unit and I have the ExpressVu Satelite running through it for the local programming to play in the background.
The Tower of Power stands at an official 6'3" tall. The Parasound HCA-3500, my newest addition sits at the top of the Tower with the Parasound HCA-2205 placed in the first shelf.

I am going to be forced to move this thread to the trash can. I told you guys about choosing the correct forum, lol. Sorry.

Offense? Guilty as charged, hiding CATs from public view. Violation of Section 1 Clause 1 of the CAT Cables bi-laws. "I agree to prominently display my CATs, and speak highly of them every chance I get."

Great job Trev! I think your about out of room though! Are those your rear speakers next to the mains? Don't tell me you run both those as mains?!?

Trev why are those studio 60's next to the 100's? You're not doing them any favour up there

Lex,,Theres so many cables back there that the CATS are buried. It's a real mess and you could always see a huge nest of wires between the rack and the entertainment unit.

Andrew,,Since I have the aquarium along the back wall I could no longer use the 60's for the rears.
The 4 ADP's are currently holding down the rear activity.
I was using the 60's with the Denon for music as the 100's were under powered until I added the Parasound amps.
So I use one for music and the other for HT.

I was just razzing ya Trev Nice job on the wall, it looks very tastefully done, and nice idea about additional support for the rack. I would really like to see you move into a dual rack to lower that thing, but not sure that's an option. I mean, were that to fall, that could be very dangerous.

                        Hi Greg!,
                        Sent you an E-mail.

                        Jon,,The Sony XE-670 is OK. I don't have any SACD's yet.
In comparing it as a CD transport though, I prefer the sound I get from my SD-9200 DVD player. I find it to sound a little cleaner in this role where as the SACD player has a somewhat muddy sound in comparison.
However, If I did not do the AB comparison I probably would say the SACD player is excelllent as it still does sound very good.
I should be picking up some SACD's soon which is the reason for adding this unit into my system.

                          by web1
I have a media niche that has a power port, phone jack (for a DBS receiver) and two cable jacks installed by the builder. Presumably one for cable and one for satellite. Due to the location of the niche and the fact that it has a "bar top" as opposed to being connected to a wall that goes...

I have thought and thought about building a HTPC, but dont really have a use for it right now. But I might someday. Until then, this is my current rig:

                          MSI K8N Neo4
                          Athlon 64 3200 90nm

Asus X300 (the only thing that I really need to upgrade)...

I thought I'd share some pics of the towers and center channel that I built for my dad. We built a set of these for a customer last year and my dad liked them so much that he decided he wanted a set for himself as well. These are finished in ribbon mahogany veneer with a high gloss poly.

A buddy of mine has a wakeboard boat and instead of him spending $1800 on two speakers for the tower, I was thinking about building a custom fiberglass enclosure...

I installed an Athlon 1.33 the other night and currently have it running at 9.5 * 150 allow (1425 Mhz) allowing my DDR Ram to run at 300 Mhz which seems to give me the best benchmark scores vs a higher clock speed at a lower FSB rate. Anyway given that the Athlons run a tad on the warm side I decided...
