Cool... probably will be one that I buy on BD, although I already bought the 10-disc megaset on SD-DVD.

it should only be a couple of months before BD. Its coming for sure, just a matter of time.

Whooooo Boy! This is one I'll definitely want, too! Should be really sweet in HD-DVD, considering how the HD trailers have looked!

This is the only set on my purchase list in June, but for me it's pretty much a "must have".

Haven't bought anything in months, just haven't had time to think about it, even. I expect this one will sell well, in spite of the price.

                                nope...no word at all.

What I would be more interested in is finding out why the heck FOX as all but totally dropped its support for Blue Ray.

was surprised to find Bourne Identity was not on pre-order too. sigh. I am pre-ordering Matrix tonight though, saves sales tax, and the mad rush for local copies. Most important, it saves the gas to go pick it up!!! Hell, that could cost damn near as much as the DVD!!!

I can't decide whether to go for the Ultimate or just get the trilogy. I'm not so much on extras anyway, no time for them much, and the animatrix is of no real interest. So, maybe I should save 10 bucks and get the standard HD trilogy.

thoughts? Any reason to really get the Ultimate Matrix?

Doug, I've got the 10-disc set on SD-DVD, and really enjoyed it, but I'm a big student of the Matrix world.

Yes, I'm hearing some good reviews of this transfer.

From the scuttlebutt I've heard, several BD releases are waiting for BD to finalize interactivity functions in BD-J before release. The Matrix movies are some of those rumored that are waiting.

I went for the Complete series rather then the Ultimate because the Animatirx in the Ultimate is not in HD and the complete has the same IME as the ultimate.

On a side not the Matrix has still not even been anounced for BD yet, and it will liely have nothing the HD DVD version doesnt have. As someone who owns both formats I am going with HD DVD.

thanks man, I just went for the trilogy and saved 10 bucks anyway, it's really what I care about, the movies! Well, thanks for finding my other selection anyway, saved me 15 bucks any way you look at it. Local would be 29.99 and 3.00 tax, ok 13 bucks, but by the time I went out there to get it, at least 15, more like 20 savings!

And the Matrix, savings? Wow, considerable. I picked up a Home Improvement series (season 6 was supposed to be 16, I waited and ordered on Sunday and the dang thing went to 20!, but anyway, I still figure I got 150.00 worth of stuff for just over 100.

ahh, turns out the release date for Bourne Identity is July, not May. I happened to look and noted the ship date on my movies was forcast for August 1, I said WHAT? lol.

After checking, I had to remove Bourne I from my order in order for my ship date to adjust to yesterday, Whew!!! LOL.

I had Matrix Trilogy in my hands at a local shop last night, hard to walk away from, but at 95.00 + tax, ouch, I'll stick to pre-order which incidentally shipped yesterday it said... I did buy "The Game" from them to support my local store some. (CD/DVD new/used store on my side of town)

good lord wait till you guys get a look at this, amazing. I picked it up last night and just threw in the highway scene from the second one. This may be one of the best looking HD-DVD's ever. How they were able to improve apon the originals so much is beyond me.

All this talk is just making me annoyed as hell that I've got four more weeks of straight business travel before I'll be at home and can order this and be around to receive it!

Oh well, something to look forward to the end of June.

Could you see the lines in the room, where the floor met the walls? (again, I was a bit surprised that the white in the scene was actually a bit dirty and grainy, though) How about the lobby shootout? Could you tell which wall panels were granite, and which were painted plaster for the scene? HD video is starting to show some of the things in the original films that were covered up by lower definition!

I too was surpprised at how much grain was present. Morpheus's face was sure hidden in SD. Yikes that guy has issues and HD isn kind to him.

I think the theater is generally a poor representation of high resolution in my opinion. I mean credit has to be given for blowing something up to such a large size, but I always thought movies look better at home then the movies...even with SD.
