    Heat's Driving Me Downstairs

Well, it's been so hot these last few days, I finally did something I haven't done since replacing my Yamaha A3090 with a Denon 3801 in my HT. I went down there and listened to some music. Why ? Because the temp down there is 70 degrees and upstairs it's 85. Usually though, I listen to music in 2 channel stereo on the Yammy upstairs. But I tried a Louis Armstrong cd on the Denon in one of those dsp modes (Jazz Hall ) and actually enjoyed it. Well, maybe because it was just cooler. I don't know. Anyway, I don't intend for this to become a habit. I still prefer my music 2CH Stereo.

It's nice to hear that someone has the courage to admit that they use/like a DSP mode.

Isn't it funny how something can force us to try new things? And what we learn when we try them.

Glad that you are enjoying cooler temps!

Right now, I am considering mounting 2 speakers on the sides of the fridge and just opening the door and sitting in front of it, lol. Wow, what a heat wave here in the south with the humidities.

Enjoy, even if it's mono George.

It's strange, but here in florida the heat is not as bad as it was last year. While the north & mid-west is burning, we're actually alittle cooler. (not much mind you)

          Which Amp Runs Cooler : RB-980BX or RB-1070 ?
          by FernandoF
I've recently purchased a Rotel RSX-1056 and got surprised at how hot it runs ! Ok, I have Dynaudio 52SE's which are 4 ohms and 86dB/w.m inefficient, but I wasn't expecting so much heat to be generated. The receiver is placed on the top of a very wide rack, so there is nothing obstructing the covers....

Suspect this is a simple question for the Rotel wizards here. I have the RSP-985 with the "second room" output to run a set of speakers outside the primary listening area. Plan to have my main setup in a basement home theater. Would like to run a set of speakers upstairs in the family room....

Using both balanced and RCA outputs on SSP

This set up may seem a little strange, but I think I can get it to work for me. Downstairs I have have my SSP 600 connected to my 5100 using the balance outputs. I decided to buy a pair of B&O beolab 8000 speakers for a listening room upstairs. Since these speakers are active all I did was connect...
