    The upgrade bug

Man, I've been hit hard by the bug, this is strange.
I have one of the best front projectors made, the NEC xg135...and I'm about to upgrade it.
I ran into a side job that's paying me some real good money and want to move into a newer xg135...is there a "home theater's" anonymous???
Anyone else making upgrades with tax returns, etc?

Here at Casa de Hancock, we don't call it "upgrades", we call in "maintenance". It's proof that I have more dry rot between the ears than brain cells, since I'll never let a perfectly good working PC alone for three months in a row, without tweaking the video card, or memory, or HD, or if I'm really desparate for a fix, the OS. (Ya have to have at least three OS's installed on a computer for it to be "interesting", right?)

And then, the weirdest thing is when cast off piles of parts start to coalace into PC's on their own, like a pool of mutant alien slime that turns into a new creature form half way through the movie. Maybe I need to cut back on my DVD usage...

Is there a twelve step program for this? Or are we truly lost souls?

                    -Jon

LOL Jon. Actually, I founded an organization called "Electronics Annonymous" back about 3 years ago I think. Of course, their haven't been many meetings since then. It could be about time to have a chapter meet. lol. (This was actually a thread I started on DT that went over 100 posts long, I forget how many. It started something like this.

"Hi, I am Lex and I have a problem. you might have one too. If you check rental DVDs for scratches before you turn them back in to BB, you just might have a problem. If the wife offers to make love to you, and you say Not now honey, I am calibrating the HT. You just might have a problem."

                      You get the idea...

Jon, I love the term "maintenance" and will start using that one myself...the wife will never know what hit her.
