Using Elan Zfan trigger on Yamaha RX Z9

I am looking to get a Elan zfan2 to cool my Yamaha RX Z9. The guys at the A/V store told me I can use the zfan trigger to turn on and off the zfan whenever I power on and off my RX Z9 but they don't know how to do this.

Does any body know how to do this and what additional stuff I need to complete this job?

    Thanks in advance

You might want to patronize a A/V store where the employees have graduated from high school.....

The rear of the receiver has a section that looks like this. Note the "+12V 15mA max." output

You make or buy a 2 wire cable with appropriate connectors that goes between the control out from the receiver (pictured above) to the trigger input on the back of the fan unit (there are no available pictures of this).

You can see in the link below that the Zfan2 accepts

    "Remote Trigger: 5-24V AC/DC +12VDC @ 0.1A trigger loop output "

Thomas is right on. I think that you can use a 1/8 inch head phone extention cable. I belive that the back of the Yammy is 1/8 jacks on the triggers. Then hook the wires up to the trigger on the fans. I also could not find a picture of the trigger inputs for the fans. I would assume that it is either 1/8 inch jacks or 2 wire. Use a multi meter if it is 2 wire to make sure that polarity is right.
