I haven't heard the Axioms but they seem to be quite popular. Check out the following "reviews."

I have the Aperion Audio 6.1 speaker system with the 12" 250 watt sub and couldn't be happier. The great thing about these speakers is they sound so natural and the bass is awesome. The speakers are very easy to listen to and for the $ I couldn't find anything that compared. Aperion has a 30 day return policy but after hearing these in my home they not going back. The people at Aperion were great to deal with too - I did tons of research and they answered all my questions and couldn't have been nicer. Oh yeah they even send you an owners kit plus my wife really liked the bags the speakers are wrapped in - very classy. Check them out at www.aperionaudio.com. Bob

Here's a thread from a few months back that discussed Axioms and other brands. Hope it's of benefit.

I posted in that older thread and was very positive about the Axioms. I have the M60s - as opposed to the 80s that you referenced. Keep in mind that the 80s are 4ohm and might tax lesser amps (I have no idea what your amps are capable of).

In brief, I think that the 60's compare very well to the B&W sound. In fact, they give up very little to my CDM-7nt's that I have in my home listening room. One key difference though is the sensitivity. I find that I have to turn up the volume quite a bit more than with my B&W's. (Both systems are powered by Rotel amps but the setups are different. The road/apartment system is powered by 2 991's and 2 1080's while the home system is a 1090/1095 mix. The pre-pro is identical.)

The Axioms play very loudly and cleanly up to - and probably past - sane listening levels. They are very detailed speakers with sparkling (but not tizzy) highs. I love when I can hear the singer taking breaths between lines! Sibiliance is not distracting at all - although this may be a function of pre-pro/amps as well as the speakers. Midrange is spot-on. Female vocals sound very realistic and pleasant. Bass extension is good, enabling the use of the speaker in a sub-less installation. But where is the fun in that? I have an SVS to handle the low end, with the mains crossed over at 60hz.

One note though, in my room the speakers are out nearly two feet from the wall and toed in slightly. The farther from the wall I moved them, the greater the depth of the soundstage. Soundstage width is not a problem at all. There is a magical moment in music listening when the sound crawls around and comes up the sidewalls to fill the room with a 'you are there' sound. The Axioms and B&W's do that very well.

In closing, the Axioms produce a well-balanced sound that leans toward detail. It is a bit power hungry but not so much that a good quality receiver would have trouble driving them.

            Happy shopping!

            David

why the hell do speaker companies make speakers with low ohms if they "tax " amplifiers
i mean keep speakers at 6 or 8 ohms so everybody is happy i have a 1095 :T and it has a minimum of 4 ohms plastered on its back ......... i dont know if i want to buy speakers that will torture my 1095 :T i would commit murder for my
1095 :T i dont care what speakers i have i would rather the speakers than my beughty .....so i dont know ....my jbls have 6 ohms and all is fine but i want to change ...and all reviews are great with the axioms :toilet:

Um.....the Rotel 1095 is hardly a 'lesser amp'. I have one in my primary home theater and I have full confidence in it. While it doesn't double down like the highest end amps do (double watts into half the impedance), I think that the 1095 can go to 350 watts into a 4ohm load. Unless you play really really loud, I don't think you have any worries.

I have heard from other Axiom users that the M80 is a bit finicky in placement - much moreso than the M60. This factor, far more than the 4ohm impledance, would make me think very hard about whether the 80 is really the right choice. How big a room do you have? Unless you are trying to shake a very large room (20' x 30'), I think that the M60's would do just fine.

Please post back and tell us what you decided and whether you are happy or not.

Another happy owner of Axiom M60s here! I use them for a 2 channel system with Rotel RB-1070/RC-1070 combo, and they sound very good. They can also handle 250 watts (I'll probably get Rotel RB-1080 for them). Great sounding speakers very close to Paradigm studio 100 (similar sound) for less than half the price. However, the best way to evaluate them is to have them home for 30 days of audition. Free shipping too. I guess you cannot take advantage of this offer in countries other than Canada and US.

                      Hello eveyone.
Seems I have been meandering around asking a lot of questions. I have been talking to our sponser, Jim, and he is great. But I have to keep investigating everything. So here is the next round.

                      Anybody running RB1095, RB1080 & RSP1098 for 7.1?
                      by RickF
I'm thinking about an upgrade in the not too distant future and am considering the addition of an RB 1095 along with the RSP 1098 to connect with my existing RB 1080 for a 7.1 system.

                      Anybody have this setup? Thoughts?

Anyone out there use Axiom speakers with a Rotel receiver/amp?

My next upgrade is speakers (full 7.1 set up) and have a few brands I am considering:

                      B&W 603 S3s, LCR 600 S3, DS6 S3
Energy Connoisseur - LCRs across the front and RC-R surrounds/backs

Hey fellow Audiophiles! I am looking to get a new set of HT speakers. I currently have JBL's Northridge Series ... 2 N26, 2 E30, a center EC25 and a Velodyne CHT 12" sub. I really enjoy the sound these speakers produce. I have heard about Axiom speakers and have seen that they are very nice...

                      Hi,

Newbie here and planning to save up for my home theater. I got a good deal on the Anthem PVA7 amp from a Montreal dealer that I couldn't pass up (it is an amazing amp for two channel...what a surprise!!). I am thinking of purchasing the AVM20 next year.

                      The dilemma...
