Time for those New Year Resolutions!

Folks,

It's that time of the year when we all need to make New Years resolutions...

You know:

> I will spend less time on HTGuide
> I will actually listen to more of the DVD's I buy before I get new ones

Time for some creative postings - Let's see how we go!

What kind of resolution is that? 8O


I guess if I have any HT related resolutions this year, they are:

1) Find an hour or two to properly converge my WT-46805. It's been quite a while since I've had a chance to do this.

2) Look for a job and house in a warmer locale. New house = new HT possibilities!

3) Once in that house, upgrade to Rotel separates, front projection, and of course, more CAT Cables!

I resolve to spend more time actually watching movies than surfing to the good parts....

I resolve to stop tinkering with set up and just enjoy it...either that or get a rack with wheels on it so I can get behind easier more likely the latter.

Aww what's the use of making a resolution, I just end up breaking it. But I am going to try to be more selective with my dvd buying and do a little more renting instead.

1) I will finish my 2003 and 2004 speaker projects before starting any new ones (I'm not THAT good at parallel processing!) This means electrical and finish completion of the M8ta and the Arvo Part, before any more work on the Saint-Saens. Also will finish the Modula HT collection (MTM and center channel).

2) I will load at least 1/3 of my CD collection uncompressed into a my media archival hard drive, and finish building my experiemental media PC

3) I will finish my new Modula HT speaker projects before watching any new/current "blockbuster" DVD movies (that means I'll be living on TV DVD and DVD re-runs until I get them finished- need to kick myself in the b*tt to get these done.) This also requires getting my Sony EDP9ES back in the system, as well as moving the Aragon 8008X3BB from the audio system to the HT. Which will mean getting out the balanced Palladiums and replacing the one quirky speaker relay board.

4) I will test and debug my DVI-D to RGBHV decoder setup for my NEC projector, and once debugged add it to the VGA pass through on component transcoder.

I will wait for Jon to complete the M8ta
I will try and stay on the side of light, but Evil Twin makes some very compelling arguments
I will try to just listen to my stuff for awhile, without constant tweaking
I will probaly break every one of these by the afternoon of the 2nd, when I get home after 3 weeks in at work.

I didn't wait until New Years, I am currently practicing, but I will purchase Open Water today, it has a DTS Track :T, .

Exercise more, especially the abdominal area.

I have stopped drinking and smoking already.

Become more budget conscience.

Become more spiritual.

1) A tv of 57" or larger will reside in my home by years end (2005)
2) A dvd player worthy of the new tv will be added
3) I will get my Snell Acoustics Type K/II speaker drivers refoamed.
4) I too will listen to my gear more often

Why would I resolve to stop buying stuff until I'm done?

To be fair, I've been rebuilding my HT setup for about two years. The TV and DVD player should be the last to pieces to completing it. (Of course that is until HD-DVD arrives)
