What do you think would be a better match, Anthem MCA 20 or ROTEL 1080? Would appreciate any advice. I have heard the Anthem/Paradigm S2 combo....was good but slightly "bright" Would appreciate any advice.

Consider room treatments or lack there of, the cables, the tweeter levels, and other variables, before deciding any combination of amp/pre-amp is "bright"

I found that My A2 (upgraded MCA20) sounded better than 1080 with my CDM9NT at lower and higher volumes. But this is my preference. I would test both with your speakers.
