Does anybody know how well this player performs? Cons, Pros? Is it better than the Bravo, or Zenith/LG units? Where can I find reviews on the Samsung? I have purchased this player and so far it is pretty good using DVI at 1080i on my Sanyo Z2. Need to know if there is something comparable that might be better or should I just keep this one? Any Help?

The only reported issues I've heard about with the Samsung is a reported black crush on the DVI output, which results in some loss of shadow detail. It may not be an issue at all with an LCD projector like the Z2. Try some movies with some challenging dark scenes, (Dark City and LOTR The Fellowship of the Rings come to mind), and if you like what you see, you should be set.

i tried both the samsung as well as the bravo d1 and i ended up with the d1.
1) the d1 was a little cheaper and 2) the picture quality of the d1 was noticeably better.
i was able to conduct a side by side comparison and there was definitely a noticeable difference. the scaling on the bravo seems to work much better with my set (sony lcd rear projection).- Bottom

by vsarathyCould anyone please comment on the differences between using DVI and component video connections between a DVD player & Front Projector?
I was thinking of buying a DVD player with a DVI out. However, there are very few choices in my price range of $750 (Bravo D1 and Samsung HD931). And, I...-

by vsarathyI had posted this in the "Home Theater" forum as well but I thought that it may receive a better reply here.
My questions is whether the DVI input to a FP makes it significantly better than the Component Video input. As the only players with DVI input with reasonable price tag... - Loading...
