Got the right Toole for the job?

Horrible pun I know but Floyd Toole tends to know what he's talking about...at least it seems so

On the Harmond site he's got several papers on speaker design and placement that I found very interesting. Many of his idea's aren't ones we typically consider normal yet he's got some compelling reasons behind them...anyway I recomend you give them a read if you have the time..

Where do you find all this stuff, Mr. Pratt ? Whether you agree or not, the article is interesting indeed.

A screen giant is gone--Peter O'Toole died earlier today
                    by Ovation
One of the greats is no longer with us. Peter O'Toole, 81, died earlier today after a long illness (no specifics I could find, nor are they necessary).

Apart from the obvious--Lawrence of Arabia--which O'Toole performance stands out to you? Lion in Winter is a favourite of mine. I also...

Got some new gear. The best part is the design, and layout.
                    by Rock Dog
Well, I purchased some new audio gear. The unit has CD, DTS Audio, DVD-Audio (including a full 5.1 discrete channels of audio) and XM Sat Radio. Plus a full Blue Tooth setup.

The best part about the new gear is the packaging and design/layout. I think it's awesome. Remember beauty is...

FINALLY got my HD-DVD "five free" rebate
                    by Chris D
I sent in my rebates on January 18th, for both BD and HD-DVD. I got the BD a couple months ago, maybe in early March. Been waiting for the HD-DVD's. I called the 1-800 number a month ago, and they said that they would be shipping out soon, and that I would get all five that I requested. (all 5 BD's...

Got the 703's and 1080 installed... (long)
                    by azsyno
Well, we've now got everything in! I replaced the 602's with 703's upfront and added a Rotel 1080.

So far I'm very impressed. The 602's never did really 'fill' this room. It's big - about 25 x 45ft. and despite having 602's in the rear for backfill, and a decent power supply in the...

What got you into Home Theater?
                    by Andrew Pratt
Just trying to generate some discussion but this could be an interesting question given our diverse ages and historys in the hobby. So how did you get into home theater? Was it a natural progression from your 2 channel days or a love for movies?

I've been interested in music for as long...
