    which ampli for this room/loudspeakers

    Hi folks,
we're changing our hifi and we are pondering which ampli to buy,
i write here - hope no harm in it - even if our stereo system
is only occasionaly used for movies, it is essentialy for
listening music, not really an Home Theater.
BUT since the room is about 9 x 5 meters and
the listening positions are all over the room, we have 4 loudspeakers
one in each corner plus one active subwoofer.

So my question is, shall we look for a multichannel ampli
(something like 4+1) or it is ok to have a 2channel amplifier
that allows two pairs of loudspeakers?

The 4 loudspeakers are from the German Nubert nubox511
    (Maximum power: 300 watts
    Impedance: 4 ohms
    Frequency response: 55-22000 Hz + / - 3 dB, with ATM 32-22000 Hz
    Sensitivity: 86 dB)
and the active subwoofer is the Nubert nuboxAW991 (max power 210W Frequency response: 20-110 Hz ± 3 dB with adjustable upper cutoff frequency 50-125 Hz, 19-125 Hz-6dB)
    :frypan: :dothewave: arty:

    thank you very much!

Two amplifier that look interesting for us are the
    multichannel Rotel RMB-1565 (Power Output 200 watts x 5/ch 20-20 kHz, 0.03% THD, 4 ohms)
    and the 2channel
    another ROTEL RB-1552 (2 x 120 watts 20Hz-20kHz, <0.03%, 8 Ohms)

    ciao
all comments are very much welcome !!!

        Crossover & Ohms
        by Stockinv
As a newbie I've seen the terms "crossover" and "ohms" when discussing stereo and/or home theatre. With regard to amps, I know it's ideal to have watts doubling as ohms half, i.e. 200 watts at 8 ohms, 400 watts at 4 ohms, etc. Could someone explain these two concepts? Specifically,...

More speaker help - Ohms and Watts whats?
        by macvidguy
Thanks for all the Bose bashing you provided. With regard to speakers and assuming I win the battle for Denon 2805 which is 7X100 and has ratings for 6 and 8 Ohms (100watts). If I understand right (my conservative thinking) I need to get speakers that support at least 100 watts right? If they are...
