    My new RSP-1068 w/ Proceed Amp 3....

Hi everyone. My first post here so be forewarned...

I was wondering if anyone else has this combo? I have large fronts, center, and rears so could somebody tell me what setting would be a good starting point as far as xover settings etc. Also my sub has a xover built in and no bypass, so should I disable the xover on the 1068 for the sub?

    Any tweaks really appreciated.

In general, unless you have $300,000 speakers, I HIGHLY recommend you set your speaker settings to "small". Let your item that's designed to do bass frequencies do them--the subwoofer.

When I set to 100 it sounds thin and anemic tho...

My fronts are capable of producing tuneful bass well below 100.

Why can I set to small and still set to 40hz??

I don't get that. If set to small the pre/pro shouldn't let me set below 100 or so...

Standard settings in the A/V world is to set ALL your speakers to small, crossover to 80 Hz. Make sure your subwoofer is set for full range input and no filters.

And make sure you have a decent sub.

I agree with Chris. I've tried many different sub crossover settings and 80hz is the one that produces the best presentation (Especially for music). It is also the THX benchmark for low frequency effects (LFE).

Do you listen to your music in 2ch stereo or do you use all 5 speakers for music too?.
