    Position of Cenetr Channel

    Hi,

After looking at all the HT pics I have a newbie question:

    1) Would you recommend putting Center channel above or below a 60" plasma mounted over a fireplace? Which will sound better?

    2) Any recommendation on how to mount a 68lb B&W HTM 2D and whether I need to tilt it a little down?

    Thanks

The more in line you position the center channel relative to the left and right speakers the better. However, if that is not possible, then position it in the lower rather than the higher position. It will render the center speaker with a little more bass and power which is always a good thing in home theater applications. The center channel is PARAMOUNT and MUST be treated with respect !!! Ok...I'm getting a little excited here !! :-)

In terms of mounting a HTM.....make sure you are in wood studs and/or are using a 'wing style toggle bolt in drywall. Again, try to get the TV at eye level relative to your watching position. If not possible, by all means, tilt it down towards the viewers. What else are ya' gonna' do??? Stand up and watch it??!! :-)

      Center channel idea
      by richh
I've got the dreaded "center channel needs to fit into a cubby hole in an entertainment center that we just bought" dilema. The space for the center channel is about 15" wide by 9" tall by 17" deep. The entertainment center is built like a bookcase so the cubby hole is more...

      RB-1080 2 channel amp update
      by Azeke
      Hello everyone.

After approximately 3 weeks of ownership, here are my quick preliminary thoughts of the RB-1080 upgrade:

      1) After 2 weeks of tweaking, my soundstage has increased in both stereo and HT, and I now appreciate 2 channel music much more, marked improvement in...

Zaph's ZDT3 adapted to a sealed center channel - build pics and notes
      by HeatMiser
First let me say thanks to Zaph for all he has contributed to the DIY audio community over the years, and make it clear that this adaptation clearly takes some liberties with the original - any mistakes in the execution are purely my own. In my subjective opinion though (and without any measurement...

Single vs Dual Channel Measurements, or why friends don’t let friend use USB mics
      by Reet
What does single channel or dual channel measurement really mean, and what are the implications of choosing one over the other? This document aims to help answer this.
Strictly speaking, a microphone is a single channel of audio input, in that it is a mono signal. USB microphones which include integrated ADC and USB codec can be considered a single channel device.

Dual channel would be a measurement which includes a second channel of signal input in addition to the microphone....

rear wall mount for center channel speaker...you thoughts?
      by eurovw89
I have the Yamaha NS-C444 that weights 16lbs. and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a read wall mount for my 6.1 system? I am going to mount it about 6.5ft up on the wall (due to my wet bar), so I need to be able to tilt it down towards the listening position (which...
