multiple outputs needed

I'm designing a multi room system. I'll be using two 5 ch. amps to power five stereo zones.

Do they make a device that duplicates a stereo input so I dont have to make a huge spliter. Can the signal be denigrated by spliting the signal so many times passively instaed of an active unit.

Yes, you will get db loss by splitting. Best bet is to get an actual system designed for multi-room audio distribution. I used a distribution wallplate from Parts Express (use the link at the top) and impedence-matching volume controls in each room. Or use something like Parasound's Zcustom units that have a speaker selector.

Look for a distribution amplifier. Basic 4 out models with audio and composite video are about $50. Parts Express had a 7 out model for around $70.
