For Klipsch , I would max out at $5K-and that's for K-horns or LaScalas. The Mac gear would be a good choice for the Klipsch "house sound". I think it would be effective at cleaning up the 'edgy' tone I've heard in so many Klipsch speakers. My $.02Lee

Yeah , for 20K I'm looking at B & W , Wilson , and Von Schweikert. Or Dali or Totem or several other manufacturers. That's a competitive price range for some of the big guys.Lee

Klipsch does make some kick-a$$ stuff. These are the $20,000 speakers I want to buy, though. New Martin Logans. Best speakers I've ever heard.

I'm just saying if you have not heard them you can't say they aren't worth it or aren't better then those other brands. Personally I'd never spend that much on speakers as I build them and even if I go all out I'd maybe spend most 5k on DIY speakers
But my point was that just because they are 20k is no reason not to consider them. I'm sure they put a lot of thought and effort into the design and its not going to be the standard RF series sound there is probably something very special about them. I know a lot of people love B&W and I agree their lower end stuff are very great value.

(in a secret-whispering voice) Dougie, not to sound like a politician, but didn't you do just that when we were talking about JL Audio subs?Originally posted by Dougie085I'm just saying if you have not heard them you can't say they aren't worth it or aren't better then those other brands.
ops:
But it's good. :T Better answer this time.
It's kind of the same approach when VW made the Phantom. Everyone already had the mentally that it's VW, not BMW... to make a car that expensive. However, those 70's Klipsch are sweet... so I'd give them a try (if I could throw $20k at just speakers) :BB&W 804S/Velodyne SPL-1000R/Anthem MRX720- Bottom

I've heard Klipsch best and MLs best and I agree the CLX have it all over the Palladiums. And that's coming from someone who owns Klipsch Reference for theater and ML Summits for stereo. One only needs a subwoofer for the CLX to be perfect.Originally posted by Chris DKlipsch does make some kick-a$$ stuff. These are the $20,000 speakers I want to buy, though. New Martin Logans. The Palladiums are better looking, however!Jerry Rappaport- Bottom

by Chris DI'm up for starting a Klipsch club here for talking about big Klipsch topics. My entire theater project in Home Theater Builder Magazine will be made audible purely by Klipsch. (except for maybe another subwoofer)
I've really come to appreciate the efficiency of Klipsch, not requiring...-

by Krzysztof WHello everybody
I have a nice system:
Rotel combo (RSP 1066 and RMB 1075) which runs great with my Def Tech speakers (BP2006TL, C2002, BP1.2X).
I can not imagine anything sounding better in my living area (which is very limited). I am 100% happy with what I have....-

by INFURNOI really enjoy DIY projects and I'm pretty handy with everything from a drill press to a soldering iron. I'm fascinated with this DIY speakers scene. Browsing forums, doing a lot of reading on a number of subjects I'm not very familiar with, and really interested in getting a project going.
