    Subwoofer sound delay

I recently got an Onkyo 606. The speakers work well, except for the subwoofer. Whenever music plays, I can hear the crisp bass line/drum on the sorround/frontal speakers, but all that comes from the subwoofer is a delayed "woom". It doesn't synch with the music.

What may be the cause of this? Is it a setting in the configuration maybe? Perhaps the subwoofer itself?

    Thanks.

There are a couple of setting you can try if they exist on your system. One would be your speaker delays on your receiver which should be in the setup menu, check your manual. The speaker delays are crucial for the sound arriving correctly to the listening sweet spot. The other adjustment would be the phase control on the subwoofer if applicable. Hope this helps.

    Peace and blessings,

Any thoughts on sloped baffles and/or time delay between drivers?
      by JonW
I’m reading about how the acoustic centers of different drivers are often not in the same place. So take a regular flat front baffle with a tweeter and a woofer. The sound from the tweeter will reach the listener before that of the woofer. And so the sound may not appear quite as precise. One...

      Hi I have this beautiful 602 S3 , 601 , LCR60...and a cheap kenwood sub.
Im using this set up in my small bedroom.

I just notice that playing Audio CD or MP3 is better in sorround than in 2 channel...I knew most of you will play it on 2ch.

Is it my receiver? my speakers...

      Delay setup
      by G. Martin
While reading the delay set up in my RSP-1068. I read it as saying, it applies the delay to every speaker according to the diastance entered. My question is does the 1068 process the information and reset to the correct delays. The manual does not say if it does or does not.

Using TrueRta to adjust subwoofer delay
      by kgveteran
How would I adjust the delay for my subs on my processor to match the mains of my HT ? There has been talk of this on other forums.

Most of the talk is that there is a problem with the subwoofer delay and that the numbers don't coinside.Your thoughts.

      Active subwoofer crossover with delay?
      by johngalt47
Recently I was reading about a diy active subwoofer crossover with delay with a little schematic on one of the discussion forums but I can't remember which web site it was.

Does anyone here know of such a thread?
