Harman Kardon AVR340 8 Ohm only?

    Harman Kardon AVR340 8 Ohm only?

    I have a AVR340 and all the specifications on the ampliffiers says 8 Ohm only. I know in the past older Harman Kardon amps have been stable at at least 4 Ohms also. I would like to run a pair of 4 Ohm speakers for the main front speakers.
    Has anyone tried this or know if the amp is okay with 4 Ohm speakers?

      I am not familiar with your piece. I do tend to agree that previous HK's were capable of driving 4 ohm loads. However, if any mfg rates a product at a certain spec, I'd suggest staying with in them.
