5 Channel Processor For Powered Speakers

I am setting up a 5.1 channel HT using Genelec self powered speakers. These are amazing speakers which are very dynamic and revealing. They are used primarily in sound mixing studios as reference speakers. I hope to pick up a used high end processor on Audiogon for under 2k to use in this system. Hopefully one with some good 2 channel characteristics as well. Most of this gear was priced much to high new for me to consider so I don't know to much about it. I would think that with all the format changes and 7.1 upgrades going on there should be some excellent 5 channel units available. These speakers ideally require balanced processor connections and HDMI version 1.1 should be fine here I would think. If anyone could chime in regarding additional features I should look for or specific models to look at I would very much appreciate it.

    Thanking you in advance, Ed

SCMS or DS8S for height channel speakers?
    by JargonGR
I am thinking about trying Dolby PrologicIIz and Audyssey DSX on my setup and I stuck between those speakers.

Is there any reason to pay extra for the dipole function of the DS8S over the SCMS when used as height channel speakers and or wide channel on DSX?

    The other parts...

Advantage/disadvantage to having dual center channel speakers
    by jam200
This is my first official post. I'm interested in knowing the advantages and disadvantages of having dual center channel speakers. I have a Rotel RSP-1068, which allows for dual center speakers. I would use dual B&W HTM7's with 703s in the front. I also have B&W 601's for the center backs...

Receiver or Preamp / Processor Question

Hello everyone - I'm new to the forum; not sure if this is the right place to post. I'm basically a newbie and pretty clueless in the home theater field, so I apologize in advance if what I'm posting is somewhat remedial.

I'm looking for advice on a new receiver or preamp/processor....

    New 3-channel Halo A 31 Amp
    by Chris D
News from CES. Kinda cool, for when you need more than an A 21, but less than an A 51. Looks like it's not just matched to the A x1 amp series in power, but more like the A 21 than the A 51 in construction.

Now where's those CD 1 players?
