    Arcam AVR300/Marantz SR7001

Finalizing plans for a 7.1 system, will be used for movies only as I have a seperate 2 channel system. 7.1 system is as follows:

    Paradigm Studio 60's
    Paradigm Studio cc470
    4 X Paradigm SA-10's in-ceilings
    Def Tec Sub

    Denon 3910 Universal Player

If I am going to use the system for movies only would the additional price of the Arcam be justified or would I likely not be able to tell the difference with movies and should just save a few bucks and buy the Marantz. Can't go the seperates route as an additional silver box, in addition to my two channel system, could result in a divorce. Additional alternative recommendations also welcome. Thanks.

Id still like to see someone get that monster Denon 5805MKII! Do it!

We sell both Denon and MArantz receivers as well as Paradigm speakers. I had a Denon 3802 powering 4 Studio 60 v.2 and a Studio CC in my apartment a few years back and it sounded stunning. I havent heard the Arcam receiver, but their reputation is very good. If you can audition both receivers, make your mind up that way. Dont rule out the higher end Denons either. The 4306/4806 are very nice units with top notch sound as far as receivers go.

Paradigm Speaker Options for my RB-1090 + RMB-1075

Well, I started off bi amping off of my Marantz with a couple carver M500"s and pushed the noise through a couple of Monitor 9 Paradigms and used the internal amps of the Marantz to power the center and surrounds. It was an improvment from before. The shock wave would loosen the puddy in the windows...

      Marantz SR7001 - Enough Power for B&Ws?
      by SF_VR6
I just ordered my Marantz SR7001 (rated 115x7 wpc).

Is this enough power to drive any B&W speakers through the 700 Series?

      My .02 Cents

I spent the morning in my local Definitive Audio. I hadn't been in and wanted to hear the newest gear they were carrying from Paradigm, B&W, NAD and Rotel. This is my first review so go easy fellas.

1095 too much for Paradigm Studio 20?
      by Bill Blank
I've got a Rotel 1066/1075 combo and have been contemplating an upgrade in the amp department. I'd like the system to be a tad more effortless with music and more amplifier power is usually the solution. Thing is the 20's are only rated up to 150 watts. Now I know speaker power ratings aren't good for...
