Separates and a Multi channel out DVD player

So If I have a DVD player (Denon 5910CI) which has multi channel out how does that work in a Pre/pro, power amp system?

Does the multi channel data to straight to the power amp or does it go thru the pre/pros first?

    Thanks!

Denon goes to the pre pro first. Pre pro outs to the amp. Connect speakers to the amp.

      Thanks,
So the DVD goes to the Multi channel inputs on the pre/pro then. Then the signal goes thru the pre-amp connections to the amp...Yes?

        Yes.
There are some things which are impossible to know, but it is impossible to know which things these are. :scratchhead:

Combining AV reciver and a Pre Pro
          by P-Dub
I was explaining to somebody about the multi-channel inputs on a receiver and how for most cases, it's pretty pointless as you'd just feed the digital signal from your DVD player to your receiver. But then it just hit me. I could probably buy a pre/pro and feed the signal out of that to my receiver...

How does your pre/pro stack up for two channel?
          by Burke Strickland
Some pre/pros that are highly regarded for the quality of their presentation on HT surround modes (DTS, DD 5.1, et al) are not considered truly appropriate for "audiophile" two channel music playback, especially those lacking an analog pass-through. Others have DACs that are easily surpassed...

Every once in awhile in the audio world a piece of equipment comes along that is so incredible that it deserves special mention among a plethora of mediocre components, and the new THX EX equipped Tag McLaren AV32R is one such piece. Never since I first got my Dynaudio speakers has any single component...

where to go next? (Pre-pro for my 803 / Krell system)
          by mrohde
Hey, thanks to coming here you folks have pulled me over to the DARK SIDE of separates.

I bought the Krell Showcase 5 (two weeks ago) and with my speakers (as some have predicted) the system is pretty bright particularly at high volumes. Could we really expect anything different for a...

Anyone seen the Parasound Halo Pre-Pro Yet?

Because I'm a pretty hard core video nut at heart, as well as more than a little out in left field on the audio side, I'm not generally one to get worked up over Pre-Pro's - most don't offer a combination of technology that hit's on all cylinders for me... 7.1 or 9.1 or whatever doesn't really count...
