Replacing part of my setup and need advise

Hi,Right now i currently have a samsung 61" tv, polk audio rm6005 system w/ a psw303 sub, onkyo reciever that is on the way out, and a samsung dvd player.

I need to replace the reciever and was looking for something with upconverting and hdmi switching, and i want to (you guys probably think i need to) replace the polks with some of the diy variety speakers.

Well i was just wondering you guys opinion.

I recently purchased a Pioneer Elite VSX-82TXS. They can be purchased at around $1,000 (less on the internet). I'm very impressed with everything it does, and particularly in improving the picture quality of my Pioneer Elite 58" rear projection 1080i HDTV.

But, I wish I had read about HDMI 3 before I purchased. I guess everything is going to be obsolete as a result by the mid point of '07. You may want to wait to upgrade.

If not, I recommend my receiver without hesitation.
