    Phase Tech "DARTS Series"

Anybody catch the review in HT Magazine or better yet, get a chance to see/hear these in person yet? The system seems pretty darned cool and effective (if not overly cheap)

dARTS - Uniform Sound for Every Seat™
Only Phase Technology offers its proprietary Digital Audio Reference Theater System - known as dARTS - a breakthrough in consumer audio that combines bi- and tri-amplified loudspeakers, high-powered digital signal processing, and revolutionary room correction software into one amazing sound system. dARTS delivers the same precise and calibrated high-quality audio performance to every seat in your home theater system, with each speaker guaranteed to +/- dB of the reference target curve.

    Room Sonic Signature and dARTS
Traditionally, because each room has its own sonic signature there is a problem with multiple arrivals of both low and high frequencies to each seat.
With dARTS, your home theater system will be professionally calibrated so all sounds from all speakers arrive at each listener's ears simultaneously, yielding precise reproduction.

Pick Any Seat in the House
By utilizing Audyssey's MultEQ XT software, dARTS offers the first affordable technology available to consumers that corrects room acoustics problems for multiple listeners. It uses mathematical "clustering" to measure a room - another first in the consumer electronics industry - then automatically adjusts the amp and speakers to deliver accurate sound. The software is designed for ease of use, and dARTS setup is a simple procedure for a certified installer.
The result: dARTS delivers the same precise, calibrated high-quality sound to every seat in the house, regardless of the room's sonic signature. Dependable, repeatable sonic perfection!

Huh... well, they look cool. Pretty low WAF, though.

Well they're in and on wall models primarily so actually if installed properly, they do :B The really cool part about them is how they sound the same no matter what room they're in....cool outside the box thinking there :T

Hmmmm, sort of like the Omni-polar technology by Mirage which I certainly enjoy :T . However, I haven't actually heard them yet.

Is it true that these speakers come with a 10 year warranty h: ?

        Peace and blessings,

I'm kind of curious what the price point of these might be?

Yep Phase Tech has 10 year warranty.

The Darts sound awesome. Phase Tech makes a great speaker. I had the V-12 system in my house. They just have a LOW WAF factor.
The Bitterness of poor quality last longer than the joy of low prices.

I listen to a D.A.R.T.S. system at my dealer a few months ago. It was a very smooth and detailed sound. Of course it was in a very well designed room but, I enjoyed what I heard. But the mains in the setup I listened to were floorstanders.

Can you put them "In-Cabinet" as opposed to in wall or on wall, and not interfere with the sound?
John, why the "but the mains were floorstanders" with the way it is designed would it matter a great deal?
The reason I ask these questions is that they are my shortlist for my new theatre, but I have no way of auditioning them in South Africa, as we do not have a Phase Tech dealer here.
                Regards,
                george.

                  Hello George,

No sir, it doesn't matter at all. I was just stating that because the system posted in the above picture has mains which require a stand/shelf/wall mounting. Heck, the ones that I saw may have been the exact same speakers posted above on painted black stands! :B I'm old and the vision is first to go. But if they were, those stands were a perfect fit to the contour of the speakers. I didn't pay a ton of attention to them since I was really there to audition the B&K Reference 50 (the processor they setup with the D.A.R.T.S.) which I purchased.

I do recall really enjoying the smooth sound from the PhaseTech system though.

Hey just wanted to share Phase Tech has New Plasma Speakers! :T They are a half moon design. One for each side. They have 2 5.25 inch drivers and a 1 inch soft dome tweeter! They look cool. And for the thin wall mount speakers to mount next to a plasma they will look cool! If they keep with Phase Tech's...

Minimum Phase and Accurate Crossover Simulation
                    by Reet
Minimum phase for a speaker can be described of the phase of the frequency response of the speaker at it’s acoustic centre, or the phase without any excess phase or “time of flight” included. It can be calculated from the speaker’s frequency response using Hilbert-bode transform, or HBT. When comparing multiple minimum phase responses, we can say that the responses occur at the same point in space, ie. there is no physical distance between them. When measuring speakers and processing the...

                    Acoustic Phase

Acoustic phase is a concept used to describe the relationship in time between two or more sound waves at a specific point in space. It represents the relative timing or alignment of the crests and troughs of the sound waves as they propagate through the air. In simple terms, the phase of a sound wave indicates where it is in its cycle at a given moment. A sound wave is a repeating pattern of compressions (areas of higher pressure) and rarefactions (areas of lower pressure)...

                    Phase Plug

A phase plug is a stationary structure placed at the center of the loudspeaker driver's diaphragm, just in front of the voice coil. It is typically a cylindrical or conical-shaped object made of materials like plastic, metal, or wood. The phase plug's design may vary depending on the specific driver and its intended application. Its primary purpose is to improve the driver's performance by addressing issues related to phase cancellation and dispersion. The function of the...
